As someone who grew up listening to WLS and actually lived in Chicago, I think having an AM Oldies station on 890 would be fab gear! Maybe we can get Ron Riley back from doing weather in Baltimore so he can fight with Clark Webber. Larry Lujack is just sitting around in New Mexico these days, I'm sure he would love to do afternoons, just like the old days.
In case you were wondering these were the top five songs thirty years ago where "The music sounds best on Double-U Elll Essss:
1. Pushin' To Hard...Seeds
2. I'm A Believer/Steppin' Stone...Monkees
3. Georgy Girl...Seekers
4. Ruby Tuesday...Rolling Stones
5. I Think We're Alone Now...Tommy James & Shondells
On a serious note, music on AM is deader than my chances of being the father of Dannie Lynn Smith. IN addition, The Big 89, a clear channel (not the company), booms into the metro after sunset, which means you can hear it tonight at about 6:30pm. A college buddy, Bill Leff, is on at that time. The AM Oldies station would be like every other AM station, save one, in the ATL, no one could hear it after sunset.
