New Call Letters for Rock & Q

Maybe Cumulus could be working to transfer the WNNX calls to another of their stations? They do own 99.7 FM in Nashville.

I hate to add to this thread but jeezzz guys... take a breather. They're less than 48 hours into the format!!! Call letters are not gonna make or break either station for a few days or even a week. I doubt very seriously many people were writing "WWWQ" or "WNNX" in diaries. Besides, as long as you quickly bury them in a spot break near the top of the hour that's sufficient. ....And if you do have letters built into an image package... it doesn't matter if you go ahead and run it. As long as the official ones run somewhere quickly it's fine. Obviously any new ones for 100.5 will be NEW. So even keeping WNNX on there (it's still "rock" formated anyway), will keep things simple for national sales buys and call outs.

It's highly unlikely the call letters will be WNNX.

FCC database under Call Sign Changes shows WWWQ 99.7 and WNNX 100.5, effective today (1/29/2008). (As of noon, the database was not completly changed, but the new calls appeared under the calls sign history of both stations).

I would suspect legal reasons (both stations are licensed to WNNX LICO, Inc.) or Arbitron (to keep the old 99X ratings in the trends)

I would suspect this is temporary for either of the reasons, and they will be permently changed within six months.

They probably do not want to lose WNNX so trying to figure out what station to give those letters two and then the best letters for this station. Maybe they are going to flip a station in another market and then use these letters.

Would you mind pointing me in the direction of that database please? I'd like to bookmark it.

I was wondering if WWWQ's Calls will be moved 99.7 FM, and What About ROCK 100.3? Are we gonna see any new calls for that station as well. My Guess would probably be WRCS, for W atlanta's RoCk Station.

Hey it's Rock 100.5, not 100.3!
