New channel lineup

I'm Not happy about Backspin, though I found it too repetitive most of the time, they are missing alot of Rap classics, but that's a hard void to fill as so much of the good stuff was very underground.

I'm not happy that the Slim Shady channel has replaced The Rhyme. Does Sirius have a Jazz Fusion channel now that Beyond Jazz is gone. Did Ali Shaheed Muhammaud's show moved to the slim shady channel? What about DJ Rasta Root's show? Will Heart & Soul(formerly Suite 62) keep the Music Honors Show. This is really begining to suck!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i agree 100%.

Yep, it is now official. I got the email sometime early this morning from XM detailing all the changes, effective immediately. Looks like the original post'er to this thread got all the details right.

For me, a sigh of relief that they went with Traffic.com and not Metro for their traffic services (Metro had been handling Sirius, and T.com was doing XM's.)

Mike,

If you liked Chrome you might like 70's on 7 - just a thought...

You forgot to put a :) :D ;D ::) after your post! Yeah, I saw that little "suggestion" on the XM website. Sorry, that won't fly with me! And Sirius apparently had their own Disco channel, too, which was dropped. Oh well, I'll be so much happier hearing golf on radio instead, or perhaps jai-lai matches.

I'm a fan of "Coffeehouse".....glad to have it as an XM subscriber now. They play it in my Dentist's office in Arlington and it usually soothes the soul just enough to drown out the molar that's being sawed in half.

I am very happy about the new line up personally. I bought the best of serius package a few weeks back for an extra 4 or 5 bucks a month. Missed hearing Howard Stern, the reason I paid for the upgrade. Used to listen to the ticket all morning and through most of the day actually. Now, only listen to the ticket for Muse in the News at 7:15- 7:30 ish, drop kiddos off at school, then flip over to Howard 100. Get to work and continue to listen online. I am sure all of you know about pandora.com. But that is the greatest thing ever created in my opinion. Listen to that most of the time at work when things get slow. But the greatest thing about pandora.com is that it has replaced my iPod and my XM portable satellite radio on the golf course. Now I use my iPhone in a small portable speaker system on the golf cart and we rock on through our round. I am extremely amazed how well it works. Better than my iPod, the variety is unbeleivable (sp?) Don't work for pandora, don't want to work for pandora, just think it is a really awesome concept.

I am LOST without my Backspin 43!! This sucks!! Where am I gonna hear my EPMD from now on??

Sirius, but I was hoping they bring over Lucy and Ethyl from XM to replace alt nation/lithium, whos playlists are a joke.

Well, they did the opposite as Alt Nation/Lithium replaced Lucy and Ethel. I've already cringed at Alt Nation's imaging and will miss Lucy's snark. I'm sure First Wave won't play China Crisis, but will give me the same Go Gos and Eurythmics songs I can hear on Jack FM. They got rid of the music programmers at XMU, (now Sirus XM-U) which is a shame.

On the plus side, I get E-Street Radio and it looks like the NBA. I'll need to give this more time before deciding whether this is worth keeping.

I always liked XM because they didn't have the DJ chatter to the extent that Sirius does. I knew when this merger went through that Sirius would screw XM all up. I miss Top Tracks and Big Tracks because both channels were completely automated with no DJ's. Classic Vinyl is ok and so is Classic Rewind but the XM programming was superior in my opinion. I dumped Sirius in favor of XM awhile back. I should have just left things the way they were I guess. Oh well, just life in the corporate world. I still have my Zune and Ipod touch.

Was Backspin on Sirius or XM....

They screwed up XM Comedy Uncensored 150. It is now Raw Dog & has more silly call-in shows than standup.

It would help if the call-in shows were actually funny.

I can not believe Sirius would axe The Strobe!! I'm really bummed out about this,
sorry but Disco is not dead & This Chrome whatever it is is NOT at all like The Strobe.
These people are just plain STUPID, if I didn't have a lifetime subscription I would cancel
in a heartbeat  What a rip off!!!
