WWWN on FM 101.1 does not make like a WINS 1010 in NYC. The "feel" of the AM
is lost by being on the FM...not sure this market can support 2 news stations, recall
it's been tried before...anyone remember WNIS? (also on 101.1) WNUS 1390 had to
go even though they were first with the all-news format. High dial position and
terrible night coverage in the N/NW Burbs at night was their demise...
I'll remain a listener to 105.9/780 (The AM when out of range of the FM, of course!)

Wither the Westinghouse-era WMAQ/670? If it weren't for the Viacom/CBS merger (that forced WSCR's move to 670), who knows how long Q would have lasted?

One of them was in the Merchandise Mart, IIRC...

Emmis moved the Loop into Q101's studios on the second floor of the Mart (they moved downstairs a long time ago) when they bought the station from Bonneville.
And Robert Murphy said at least once during his stint that he was broadcasting from "The Mancow Memorial Studio."

Did WKQX relocate to a different part of the Merchandise Mart after NBC sold it to Emmis (and WMAQ/670 moved with WMAQ/5 over to the NBC Tower) or has it always been there literally since the NBC days?
