New Format ?

It’s very unfortunate in my opinion that La Mejor, (THE NEW ONE) is not on air. I actually enjoy their programming more than most of these Spanish language stations.

I can say it has better programming than LA MEJOR from 2017.

You're going to have to be more specific. Old is new again. But new is also technically gone. It's confusing keeping up with what's going on. Are you talking about MVS' affiliate "La Mejor"? Or the current "La Mejor 104.5" (let's just call it 2017 La Mejor moving forward, agree??).

The MVS branded station seemed more regionally appropriate for the market IMO. If it would have ended up on a downtown translator instead of a northern flank station, I think it would have done much better than the "La Caliente" format.

I'm also wondering if the 2017 "La Mejor" is a placeholder format until a new tenant is found for the three stations?

A station can switch between mono and stereo with the same transmitter. This is sometimes done with stations that carry play by play sports which go to mono during the games.
KSHN in Liberty used to take advantage of stereo to broadcast two High School football games at once. If you wanted the Liberty game, put on your left headphone. If you wanted the Dayton game, put on your right headphone.

It was an odd, yet interesting method of getting content out.

I'm not sure that's legal.

KBEY in Marble Falls did something else with HSFB.. broadcast one game on the main signal and another on the on chnanel booster and got nailed for it years ago, i think

Yes I’m speaking of The MVS station played lots of Norteño music, lots of Tejano and lots of Banda. It was like a mix of KQQK and KLTN in one station. And I agree, I first thought that all these movements was to give the MVS station more coverage. Hopefully they find a place where they can lease on FM. I can dare say it has potential to be better than LA RAZA and El Norte too

And yes I think The 2017 La Mejor is just temporary till they find a Tenant. Maybe The MVS one can lease.

Also forgot to mention La Calientes website is down. You can no longer listen through the website. You have to have the PLATINOMAX app to listen to it

No it isn't and wasn't legal.. those with mono radios got garbage and legal IDs were buried in crowd noise... stereophonic rules do not allow different programs in each channel. The only exception iirc is if one channel was English and the other Spanish of the SAME program and the legal ID is hear in both channels at the same time

A little confusing but here goes. Yesterday I was listening to 104.5 FM (La Mejor 2017) not LA MEJOR MVS.

The RDS was showing names of songs that weren't on the air, but then flipped to 102.5 and both The LP and translators where playing the songs that were on the RDS of 104.5fm.

But during the imaging ID both kept saying LA MEJOR 104.5 FM

Very weird. I've noticed 2 different Spanish stations on 102.5. One is La Nueva that mentioned KJOZ and the other has no branding I heard or a top of the hour ID. KJHJ is still off the air.

Friday evening check: KJOZ 880 and KJFI 102.5 are running the same version of La Mejor, with KJFI about 15 seconds behind KJOZ. However K283CH 104.5 has different music with the same La Mejor branding (it does not appear to be a timeshift.) 104.5 includes the frequency with its branding while the other two do not, at least during the time I listened.

The same people are just swapping out equipment and mis-configuring things, that explains the RDS from the wrong station showing up.

RDS of 104.5 is showing WWW.LAGRANDE1045.com

The RDS of 102.5 is showing LA MEJOR 102.5 FM LA GRANDE.

Both have different programming. 102.5 has LA MEJOR from 2017 but still announcing it as 104.5 and suggestion people to download the LATINO BC app.

I couldn’t find the app.

La Mejor 102.5 (2017) is blasting here in The Heights in areas where KMAZ usually sounds clear enough.
