New Jeopardy Host(s).

I think Gary would make a fine Jeopardy! guest host. Just look at what a great contestant he is on a far more intellectually challenging game show:

Some articles have said he was 96, including the Wikipedia article at Johnny Gilbert - Wikipedia, but now it says that he is either 92 or 96 depending on the source. In any case he still sounds great and I hope he makes it to 100.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — “Jeopardy!” needed a host, and Lucille Ball had an enthusiastic suggestion for creator Merv Griffin: The smooth-voiced, debonair emcee of the “High Rollers” game show.

That was 1984. Decades later, filling the void left by the late Alex Trebek involves sophisticated research and a parade of guest hosts doing their best to impress viewers and the studio that’s expected to make the call before the new season begins taping later this summer.

Think of Sony Pictures Television as clutching the rose, and Mayim Bialik, Anderson Cooper, Katie Couric and “Jeopardy!” champs Ken Jennings and Buzzy Cohen among the suitors so far, with more to come including Robin Roberts, Dr. Sanjay Gupta and LeVar Burton.

^^^ I've seen a few stories about LaVar Burton stating he wants to be named the permanent host, and that part of him even believes it was meant to be, especially since he's watched that show for many years.

I liked Burton on Star Trek and Reading Rainbow - He'll get his chance to guest host jeopardy later next month. That time at the podium may give a clue as to whether or not he may be a strong contender for the slot permanently.
