It is, every time I've heard it, liberal talk aimed at conservative audiences.
As far as I know, Mr. Colmes does not have a single clearance on an over-air station that purports to be a progressive talk station. (I'm not including his still-existing clearance on XM's "Air America" channel, despite the fact that they've renamed the channel for the deal with AAR. I mean terrestrial stations. I could be not remembering one...maybe CC's KRPT in San Antonio?)
Since he's on at 10 PM ET, he can be slotted after Savage in a less high-profile time slot on conservative talk stations.
It's not so much Colmes' own performance that gives me the impression he's the "conservative talk radio listener's liberal host". Unless they've changed the show's liners since last I heard the show, every single one of them is aimed at conservative listeners, with lines like "wanna give Alan a piece of your mind?", etc. I'm surprised they don't have liners like "Alan is really a liberal wimp, call up and show him how the right is right!". But they're not that far off.
