Well, its not gonna be a top biller thats for sure,, But I may have maybe slightly disagree with David Eduardo on this one,, Which I rarely do, cause he knows his stuff,, But Alot of 50s and 60s oldies was like Black Urban Doo WOop type stuff, and then the 60s mowtown,, both of which could have a following with an older Black and Hispanic population.. Sure,, I dont think an Oldies station that focused on stuff like The Beattles and Hippy music would work,,, but an Oldies Urban leaned station just might.. But like you guys say,,,, I wouldnt take that signal if they gave it to me,, All its gonna do is make it more difficult to hear WCBS,,,, which with that signal,, I bet WCBS would still be heard loud and clear in parts of the Miami Palm Beaches,,Homestead,,area,,, especially if its gonna be a daytimer,, which it would almost have to be.
With that said,, Miami could use an FM Oldies station,, and need I say th dreaded D-Word.. a Dance station,,, but who if anyone could or would roll with these formats in Miami,,, My guess at this time is Nobody,, since in most markets, both these formats are usually Bottom Feeders,, but who on FM in Miami is doing bad enough with their format, to take a plunge and try one or both of these formats in their Cluster.... I guess you could call Radio Exxito 105.5 a Dance station to a point, but its a Billingual station with their tower in the worst place of all,,, the middle of the keys, and the 50kw signal barely touches on Miami or Keywest,, though their studios are based in Homestead.. However they are also attempting to target North beach Cuba listeners.
