New morning host at WGST-AM

“I am also hoping that if I play my cards right, my new colleagues at WGST will take me to The Varsity to celebrate, where I once had the best hot dog of my life.”

What colleagues?

That hot dog was very important. It gives him tremendous credibility to be a host in Atlanta.
Best moment ever was former Power 99 guy Domino coming back on 105.7 and saying what a great time he had the other night at Cowtippers. Sorry to be show quick, I have to get in line for a show at the Cotton Club.

Actually, Richard appears to still be on the run and a bit out of touch. Mike Conti won an AP award for his preview of the election last year if I remember correctly, and Jennifer Perry won for best newscast. Mitch Evans also won for best sportscast. All are still on staff.

All of which amounts to: WGST = DOA. So big deal, but they still fired the guys who won the year before and Perry, Conti and especially Evans know their days are numbered.

footnote.... with the new Braves deal, the clock is ticking down even faster for Mitch. Polish up that resume, buddy. It's time to kiss CC farewell and move on down the dial.

I can imagine that this guy will shake things up especially if his views conflict with the views of the average WGST listener.

There's nothing left to shake up. Nobody cares anymore. With Cook's departure, it's hard to believe this was the best they could come up with. Pathetic.

Best or cheapest alternative? They could get the same ratings airing static or tone all day except for crazy-crying guy followed by morbidly obese drug addict.

Cheap. It's obvious that's the only thing that makes sense to the zombies who are running the place. As soon as one of the management geniuses connects the dots and figures out that you don't need local news when there's no other local content, they'll fire the rest of the humans, run Fox at the top and bottom of each hour, and put the station on auto pilot.
And Smerconish: sounds like a food borne illness... or a Latvian word for what the show actually is.

Cheap? There is nothing cheap about bringing in a syndicated show. You must play their commercials which are usually 50 percent of the commercials in the show. So, on WGST, they are giving away 50 percent of their daily revenue potential. Syndicated shows are extremely expensive.

Richard, the tests came back, you have Smerconish. There is no cure, I'm sorry.

Not in this case... This guy just has started and is waived all fees just to be on in the Atlanta market so he can grow big like Rush. Another Bald Head to the line up. In CC they like no hair on air and in Management. I hear Mr. Clean is doing overnights!

At CC, there's no hair on any part of their body. The only way Smerconish becomes as big as Rush is to keep socking away those Philly cheese steaks. Considering WGST's revenue potential is about nil right now, this has to be the cheapest show in Atlanta radio history no matter how they set it up. Lipstick on a pig, CC's specialty.
