New radios coming

Funny, all of my HD 2 and 3 streams are locally produced and not available elsewhere. HD is new technology. The price will fall. When I first bought my computer a 9600 baud modem was over 500$. Think their still 500$, if you can find one? My first computer was 25 Mhz with 4 meg of ram and cost well over 1,000 dollars. Today it's not worth 50 cents.

That's very nice. I am happy for you.

My first PC (semi compatible) was $2200 and less
than 5 MHz.

When the price of HD multicast radios goes down
enough and their functionality increases enough
(like a clock radio, as mentioned) to be worthwhile,
I'll probably buy one.

Until then, content is much more important
than fidelity.

I'm sure there are millions of people with PCs now
who said ten years ago "I'll never need one."

In '83 I would have said the same thing. In '84,
I suddenly needed one!

And I'm probably the only one on this site
w/o a MP3 player.

YMMV.

My HD Receptor has two clocks and a remote control.

That's great. How soon do you think they'll be < $50?

I just may consider it.

I think BA's Recepter sounds like a good radio.

It's a never-ending monthly payment, and I get more
content choices on web radio.

cable is a never ending monthly payment but yet you probably have it dont you??? and all those choices are nothing more than commercial channels. 40 minutes of commercials vs 20 minutes of programming. try to watch the weather channel and you will see..they do the weather in 2 minute stopsets..when they stop the commercials..

I went without it for years and I may cancel it again after the election.

99.9% of what's on TV is BS.

If I could get just C-SPAN, History Channel, FNC, and maybe something
like USA or Sci-Fi, I'd be just as happy as with 70+ channels now.

My first personal computer (notice I didn't say "PC") had a 2 MHz. 6502 microprocessor. My second personal computer had a 4 MHz. Z80 microprocessor. I thought I'd reached speed heaven with that second machine. My third personal computer WAS a PC and it had a 6 MHz. 80286 microprocessor. Yet another jump in speed. And my fourth personal computer was a PC and had a 25 MHz. 386 microprocessor. I am still using that machine today. Don't ask for what. It is way too geeky for the HD radio buffs on this board. :)

Amen to that!

I preceded you by exactly one year. Incredible how that goes!

And I'm probably the only one on this site w/o a MP3 player.

Nope! I belong to the no-MP3 player club as well! :)
