Interesting that WSBB is able to stay atop V-103 again, which is just a hop above Majic which is just a hop above Kiss 104.
Quite possible that Majic may overtake V-103 (they closed the gap by .9 this time).
How is Rashan Ali's show doing? Does anyone know? By the way, Hot 107.9's PD Hurricane Dave is posting on Facebook that his station is Number #1 18-34 for the second book in a row
So looks like WRDA kind of has settled. 3.6. Well, guess that's the best "rock" station in town, but hoped they'd start going back up. Maybe they need to rethink that ultraconservative playlist as far as new adds. Last time I listened they were getting a little old with its "currents" and repeating recurrents way too much that have been beaten to death ("Sail" anyone?).
Thankfully, up here in Greenville, X98.5 still exists (for how long, no one knows) and staying quite fresh, but I'm already setting up to stream from out of state when it's gone and Radio 105.7 probably won't be on my presets.
Radio 105.7 has got to get a little more fearless with their playlist or they will die. Once the numbers start going down, all the hard work of trying to get those numbers to a certain point will be lost because those that once listened will be gone for good.
It is kind of sad. Radio 105.7 seemed to have a good shot at being a successful alt station given the format's recent downhill history in Atlanta. But it may end up being another station sent to the graveyard because they didn't take advantage of the early boon. I know what they were trying to do by playing it safe early on, but getting to the point where it just sounds stale is not a good thing for any station regardless of format.
Just when I thought the grown folks radio war from late spring had died down, seems like it is slightly flaring up. V-103 may be the most well known urban outlet in the US outside of NY, LA and Chicago but it seems to be too focused on celebrity status and barely enough on Metro Atl itself. But what can u do when u have jocks appearing on CNN or one of the reality shows set here. But musicwise as long as it plays new R&B titles that most so-called hip-hop/rnb outlets won't touch (i.e. Babyface/Toni Braxton, Jaheim or Ron Isley) it won't have to worry too much about the two adult rnb heads cutting the 25-54 audeince too dry.Interesting that WSBB is able to stay atop V-103 again, which is just a hop above Majic which is just a hop above Kiss 104.

I'm reading facebook and seeing all the folks excited about the "new" song called "Royals" by Lorde. Uh - Lorde has another single out called "Team" and every alternative station in america (oh except for Radio 105.7) is playing it.

LOL you hit it on the head about the celebrity status. HOT 107.9 is #1 18-34 and MAJIC 107.5 is #3 6+. Even though V103 is well balanced playing both hip-hop and r&b, listeners maybe shifting towards HOT for Hip-Hop and Kiss/Majic for R&B. V103's midday playlist is all over the place from 2 Chainz to Keith Sweat.

I wouldn't say middays are "all over the place". Middays are middays, 60% R&B about 40% hip-hop and within that composition about 30% of that is classics or old school. The 2 Chainz song you heard prior to that Keith Sweat song was actually a R. Kelly song featuring 2 Chainz, so it's contemporary R&B next to old school R&B. Those at V aren't foolish but they will mix it up and give people something different that Hot, Streetz, Kiss, or Majic won't do. V is still #1 for the 18-49 demo, which is where most of their revenue and ratings tends to originate.
