New River Morning Show Starts Monday

Hey... I know Randy & Spiff are good guys, but lets be honest, their show is not good. And syndicating Eddie Money? Good God man... No wonder terrestrial radio blows. I've had satellite radio since it's inception and I continue to praise it's goodness every day. You can listen to what you want, anytime you want, wherever you want; car, house, smartphone. Why would you listen to bad local radio? No thanks.

Cox FM PDs aren't well known for knowing what to say to talent except to quote research that makes the point they want to make. But it is surprising that Cox would have a morning show with a talent in LA who won't listening to their "input." Man, who do they blame ..there has to be a stand by scape goat

The press release quoted Steve Smith, who is now the national PD.

Why can't River put Kaedy back in PM drive where she belongs? Or is Kaedy getting too old for that kind of stuff? I liked her in the AM but she was off the air by, what, 8:30?

R&S on The River would be a disaster...one babystep less of a disaster than Steve & Vikki.

I've always been surprised by how many people think doing successful radio of any kind - let alone mornings - is easy, and that anyone can do it... The world is littered with ex-rock stars who've failed at this. The only one I know of who didn't really fail was Joe Walsh...

Does Greg Kihn qualify as a rock artist? He's been on the radio for several years in San Diego, and if I'm not mistaken, his show was recently syndicated... And how about Alice Cooper's syndicated "Nights" program? Is that show still on the air?

The sweeper said "Eddie Money live." Is that technically true because he's not dead?

They're no different than those Progressive insurance radio commercials that start with the jingle "Live from Progressive..." Really, how do you expect listeners to take you seriously when you lie to them right off the bat?

When I was with 96rock in the early 90's, we had some back and forth conversations with Ray Manzarek of the Doors about becoming a jock. he had done an interview with us, and was good on the air. Somehow, the idea got proposed to him, probably by our PD, Michael Hughes, and I know that they talked about it. Don't know why it didn't happen, as the Doors were not active on the revival circuit then like they are now. I think having Manzarek as a jock would have been great.

I agree that the Eddie Money thing sounds really, really bad. Either get Kaedy back in there, or put her on the afternoon drive, which is really where she should be.
