New Sports Station Coming To DFW

Check out KEGL's Facebook page. Their automated news poster is going and going and every link it posts redirects you to the dummy page. LMAO

I suspect a sound similar to the Bone is exactly what they're striving for. This isn't going to be a purely sports talk station in all probability.

If it's even 40% sports, it's a sports station. All the hires are sports people. The lineup is already out.

On stations like these (talk stations on FM in a large market), do iHeart and Audacy generally turn off the stereo pilot? If they are going to have a music element I guess not, but in the southeast at least it’s common for them to shut the stereo carrier off, only thing is most of the stations I’ve physically checked don’t have the best or strongest signal so I don’t know if that would apply to a signal like 97.1.
I did on 99.5 WRNO New Orleans when I became Engineering Manager in Dec 2019, a former rock that iHeartMedia flipped to talk. It makes a big difference in the outlying areas

97.1 is only static.
That is amusing because static is amplitude modulated. FM's initial selling point about 80 years ago was "no static".
