Put Mark Larson on WHPT between Bubba and Cowhead. Quinn on nights. I might not agree with all the opinions, but it would be over-the-top. Not your fathers talker. As for the displaced people on WHPT, move them to the Eagle in middays and evenings. Two winners!

106.5 in Jacksonville (1990's) -- eventually went back to music

Went back to FM talk even more recently though, simulcasting 690 AM, and they're still at it today. Wouldn't call it a success, but I hear old Boortz claim he's #1 in Jacksonville and makes the station (WOKV AM) what it is, etc.

WOKV 106.5 is a boon for the beaches and extreme eastern Jacksonville proper (as well as St. Augustine, at night), 106.5's tower is in the Palm Valley/Ponte Vedre area south of Jax Beach and they can't increase the power or move further west due to the 106.5 FM located in nearby Lake City.

I understand that the 106.5 from Lake City starts interferring with WOKV fm just west of downtown Jacksonville.
