The SAP audio-only channel on 7-2 uses exactly zero extra bandwidth and almost zero equipment, and there is no reason to get rid of it.

ok. Wbbj can make a 7.4 then.

From what Scott Fybush has posted here: http://boards.radio-info.com/smf/index.php?topic=210082.msg1881459#msg1881459 and Trip's page on WBBJ here: http://www.rabbitears.info/market.php?request=station_search&callsign=WBBJ#station WBBJ is pretty much maxed out in their bandwidth now with no room to add a 7.4 channel, even if they drop the audio from 7.2. They need to adjust the bandwidth to get Me-TV in as a full time channel. But apparently a new news set is more important to them.

WBBJ can (and SHOULD) adjust the bandwidth on their channels to make room for Me-TV. There are other Bahakel stations that have their bandwidth set for 4 channels like WOLO in Columbia, SC: http://www.rabbitears.info/market.php?request=station_search&callsign=60963#stationand WFXB in Myrtle Beach, SC: http://www.rabbitears.info/market.php?request=station_search&callsign=9054#station . WBBJ needs to stop making excuses and fix the problem.

I hope that possibly even now that Me-TV is giving WBBJ a deadline to make them a full time channel or they negotiate to move to WJKT.

I want nexstar to add a retro channel to 16.2. I hope it's metv, but antenna tv, cozi, and rtv would be ok too

If Nexstar wants to do the same on both 24-2 & 16-2 it cant be Antenna TV (Memphis already has it)

What about TNN? (The Nashville Network)..couple other markets in TN carry it

that would be ok. I'd rather have a retro network though

I was hoping something would happen with today being April 1st, but so far nothing that I could see.
i talked to WPTY again today and they are still trying to make a decision. come on already!

well wiki was updated recently for WJKT so take it with a grain of salt

A source close to Nexstar has confirmed that Nexstar is looking to carry Cozi tv, The Nashville network, or Movies! on WJKT-DT2.

Doubt it would be Movies! From what I heard Nexstar wants to do the same on both WPTY-DT2 and WJKT-DT2. Since Memphis Fox is O&O there goes Movies!

I still think it will be TNN

I hope its TNN. Cozi sucks and WHBQ in Memphis is already going to be getting Movies.

If it's between those three I'd rather have Movies. Cozi is mostly hour long dramas, and very few sitcoms, and I'm not a big country music fan. But I realize that Movies is more likely to go to WHBQ, which means it won't be on WPTY or WJKT.

I really hope the article in Wikipedia is wrong, and that somehow Nexstar can still get Me-TV away from WBBJ, although I won't be surprised if they don't.

and its gone from wiki now

yeah the same prick who wrote "Nexstar doesnt carry subchannels" when WJKT-DT2 was dropped edited it removing that info from whoever wrote it

I hope we get something soon. It's been blank too long. It would be strange if RTV came to it again, because WLMT 30-2 was originally RTV before it switched to MeTV. It's already been announced Movies will be on WHBQ so that won't happen. I really hope it is TNN.

Of the retro networks Me-TV is the best and I still hope that Nexstar can work out some way to get it. Antenna is the next best although they don't have as many shows I like as Me-TV. Cozi is probably next best after that, but going by their website they have more dramas and very few sitcoms.

RTV used to be a lot like what Me-TV is now until they lost the CBS package of shows, and they have been going downhill ever since to where now they're the worst. They may have some good shows, but I still hope that WJKT will be able to get Me-TV, even if it takes a little longer to do it.

I posted about this on their facebook page a little over a week ago and this was their reply:
"We're not quite sure yet because we're still waiting on a decision from our corporate offices."

That was just one day before the unexpected death of their chief meteorologist Mark Walden.
Yesterday, someone else asked about it and this was their reply:
"I'm sorry, we have not gotten any updates yet."

This is taking way too long. I wish they would just move MeTV to 24.2 and take it away from WBBJ and put it on 16.2 as well, and then add more syndicated programming to 30.2 since it has MyNetwork TV.

WJKT still has channel space on Charter where Live Well was, on channel 176. It's a black screen with WJKT-TV 16.2 Jackson, TN in the lower right corner. Being that that is, I'm also of the opinion that Nexstar will have a replacement, otherwise Charter would've took it completely off.

In the time since I made the above post, Charter has removed channel 176. Maybe Charter got word that there won't be a replacement.

I still think that they'll eventually put something on, otherwise why even waste time with the blank screen and station ID?

But it also doesn't make sense to me why Nexstar didn't have something lined up to replace Live Well with before they shut it down.
