1550 KKJY 12+ ratings 7p-MID drop off considerably, and this daypart has little effect on the KKJY 12+ numbers 6A-MID M-Sun...DoubleC said:My two AM's each went up nicely (pretty good for music am's that are at low power at 5pm in this book & these #'s are 6a-mid)

Are you operating under your CP's for 1550 and 1600? If so, this will help a little bit.

What counts in NEWS/TALK is 25-54. KABQ might be doing just fine with Hartmann/Schultz/Miller. Again you have to call Chuck or Bill at Clear Channel get the 25-54 numbers, but they probably won't release them. KABQ-AM has been as low as a 1.1 and then rapidly rebounded. The six book average since summer 2006 for 12+ is a 1.7
There is no need to continue to discuss this until either one of us obtains the 25-54 trend over these three books. Remember, Clear Channel releases their fall 2007 survey in a month or so w/ all the numbers for the market. Our divergent political viewpoints have been more than readily apparent on this board. However, I try to be as objective as I can when interpreting and extrapolating Arbitron data.

25-54 was a 1.0 for Fall vs a 1.2 for summer vs a 2.2 for spring. That sure looks like a trend.

David,
For what daypart?
Where did you get these numbers?

Kent said:If Albuquerque is so liberal, the success of KKOB and problems of KABQ simply prove something many of us have said over and over. That is that good talk radio works while bad talk radio doesn't; viewpoint of the programming is irrelevant. Also, remember that KUNM and KANW were already serving the more liberal audience, and their ratings used to be much better than KABQ's. Unfortunately, the RRC no longer shows Arbitron data for Albuquerque. I know you don't like NPR, but the majority of the liberal audience seems quite satisfied. Nationally, only Rush Limbaugh has a bigger audience than Morning Edition and All Things Considered.

If you were to look at the M25-54 for Ed and Thom in Albuquerque, you would see good ratings, especially for Big Ed. I would guarantee this for any liberal station in any market in the US. .... To be fair, you would need to look at midday ratings on KABQ-AM, esp. for Big Ed.
