God, somebody spare me. I'd rather have even Buttons back up there at this point.

RadioMahn said:Yeah, like Journey and REO in their day, all Nickelback does is sell tons of CDs and sells out shows everywhere. You have to be very uncreative to do that. I always chuckle when I hear a rocker geek spew "they've soldout." hehe

Yes, but no one plays "Chain Hang Low" anymore

Russ said:It it sucks so bad, why do they sell millions?

Hmm. I was traveling last Saturday and listening to Open House Party and they announced it was the number one requested song for the night. I guess someone should tell John Garabedian not to play it anymore.
I just wonder what are you doing on a CHR board. Top 40 is for the masses. The hits the mainstream population wants to hear. It's evidently much too mundane for such a musical elitist as you.
#1 hits are NOT always good songs. The end.

Geez, you're so smart. I knew that 30 years ago. Where've ya been?
spongebag7890 said:Have you also heard that it's a syndicated show that includes BOTH Top 40 and Rhythmic radio? If it's such a fantastic hit on CHR why did it barely even dent the top 30? Because it charted just as "Laffy Taffy", "Lean Wit It Rock Wit It" and soon "Walk It Out". Most Rhythmic leaning CHRs are usually what even makes these songs chart in the first place, don't believe, check the charts. You can station pls at mmr247.com/mmrweb/allaccess or the charts at mmr247.com/mmrweb/allaccess/charts.asp?format=h1r&showtopn=500, you obviously haven't touched the site or you wouldn't be saying "Chain Hang Low" was a smash hit on this format.
And not ALL mainstream radio attempts to play what everyone wants. If that was the case, every CHR in the US would have skyrocketing numbers. Is that the case? No.
And as far as Nickelback, because I hate "Far Away" does NOT mean I hate all the songs on top 40 radio. I could make a hell of a long list of songs I enjoy on Top 40 currently, for top 10, some of the best songs I've heard this year "Too Little, Too Late" and "Chasing Cars" are featured on there. I do have songs I hate, and "Far Away" is one of them, whether it be Kroger's annoying vocals or the fact that it's the same damn song as the 8 or so other top 10 hits they've had. Just becuase it's a hit doesn't mean I enjoy it. And that goes for all charts. "Laffy Taffy" was #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 but that didn't make me like it, and the fact that this song is #1 on Top 40 airplay does not convince me to enjoy it either.
And guess why it is #1? Take a guess. Because 14-21 females either love this sucked into a tunnel love-song oh how sad or those that think NICKELBACK ROXX HARD!!!111. That's why. And that's the people CHRs try to capture smart one. #1 hits are NOT always good songs. The end.
Obviously not because if so, you would have never responded to my hating of Nickelback.
Or, or could it be that, that, ...you like it and hate me because of it?? What maturity

I don't love the song or hate the song. It's just a song on the radio. Get over it it. :-*
Oh, and judging by the length of your posts, you have way too much time on your hands.
