No Jason Wolfe magic at WRKO

It is certainly needed although some don't see the dirt piling up around them. Time to back up the dumpster the sneaker building.

Ellen O'Brian (wth Ted Weyman) and Mary Ellen Burns, Two females on the weekends.....maybe there's something to this, maybe not

The weekenders don't have the magic; I listened awhile back, yaawwwn. Bring back Jay Diamond - oh, wait a minute, wrong ideology.

Wrong idealogy? I know she's just a weekender but keep in my mind that Ellen O'Brian is about as Left as it gets . I thought I heard her say that she'll be voting for (gulp) Deval Patrick. She also takes a pretty good bashing from some of the callers as well and tends to hold her own.

I just meant the station as a whole; the guy and the gal just seem a little too not-quite-ready-for-prime time.
Jay Diamond was doing his best Keith Olbermann - a little tooo far left for the station, though I thought he was very good (even though some claim he was once a conservative)...whatever, I'm tired of politics as entertainment. AM1430's Stephanie Miller totally overdoes it with the jokes. Sometimes she's a riot but mosttimes it falls flat.

I think you're wrong to blame Jason Wolfe for what his bosses decide.

No reason for change at WRKO with the Red Sox coming next season. The broadcast alone will make RKO a contender for one of the top stations in the market. The smart move, of course, would be to get talent in place for the morning so when people get into their cars having had the Sox on the night before, they have a reason to leave it on 680.

The Daytime Divas weren't bad. Better than towing the Republican line. When WRKO is closer in the ratings to the Classical Music station than Oldies, Country and ROR, it speaks volumes.

They are putting all their eggs in the Howie Carr basket; that basket is wilted, worn out and redundant. Thus, their ratings are a grade higher than the anemic WBCN and WAAF, but still have fallen mightily.

Crop rotation works for farming. Entercom should do a George Steinbrenner & just implode the current staff and start fresh.

Go to the RadioAndRecords.com page, Ratings are on the 5th icon over at the top of the page, Boston is the
11th market towards the bottom of the page. WRKO is still in the top 10, but the Summer ratings are not shaping up nicely according to the first two trends. Pretty dismal for such a powerful signal.

You just do not understand radio basics Joe, you are reading the 12+ numbers. They dont mean much since rko is looking for men 25-54. To put it in a context that you could understand; It's as though you're in a wedding party and the tuxedos are black and when you get to mr. Tux or wherever you rent your formal wear and they say " we have your size but we only have a pink one for you" it does not matter because you need a black one to be in the wedding party. 12+ numbers that you see and comment on constantly are the pink tux. They exist but dont matter to the discussion.

Or you are a crab fisherman, and you catch ten thousand flounder in your traps but fifty thousand crab. Flounder are nice but you are being paid to catch crab.

Thank you, Panago. That individual is just trying to bait and cause trouble; he's not even supposed to be posting in here. We can't post the ratings but it doesn't matter, 12+, men, women, the ratings across the board for that station are not what they used to be.

Listening to John DePetro for the first time in a long time this morning it is easy to see why. They had a woman named "karen" on around 10 AM ish - she was brilliant. What a great legal mind. She was obviously from
Deval Patrick's camp, but she did a wonderful job of shredding DePetro to pieces. JD can't take a steady diet of that, but it makes for good radio and keeps people that don't agree with the RKO ideology listening.

When DePetro said "And we've got the world premiere of the new Kerry Healey advertisement" (paraphrased) it was barf time. Really. That got me to switch back to Oldies 103.3 and hear something worth listening to.

How grating - wow - the new Kerry Healey Ad! Like an audience wants to hear advertisements from one political party.

The plant calls that are pro-Healey are really bothersome too. Who wants to hear this propaganda.

No wonder Howie Carr went off on David Scondras - finally - he had an opportunity to dump Muffy.
