My god. Who's editing the Living section at the AJC these days?
In today's AJC print story, Steve McCoy is quoted in a very inflammatory manner about the "lies and deceit" and "disingenuosness" from Star management and then.....reading down, reading down....there's nothing to back that up! No example of what he meant, no follow-up, just an incendiary quote.
Eldredge immediately follows the quote with an inane, out-of-place anecdote about the wisdom of talking up Elton John on the air, which, of course, speaks to tactics and strategy - but certainly not to lies and deceit.
I'm not a big Cox Conspiracy Theorist, but if I were Bowen or Kanov, I'd rightly be pissed at being portrayed as a liar when there's not a single example or citation in the story that points to unethical behavior.
Not blaming Steve; I'm sure he feels that way, but Eldredge can't throw a quote like that so high up in the story and then never come close to substantiating it.
Rodney, tell me you would have drilled down a little harder!
Also, I'm fairly certain that the head shot of S&V on the ajc homepage is at least 15 years old. Kind of odd to choose that one, since the story is pegged to their aging. Hmmmmm.
