It's Arlene radio. Has she actually taken over programming the station?
Arlene is fine, but she's an anomoly. You can't make a whole station out of novices; the awkwardness and the unprofessionalism is grinding on the ears. I can deal with 3 hours of Arlene, but not a whole station.
During fill-ins, Howie's kind of interesting because he's a union guy. Do I want to listen to two hours of "angry union guy" a day? No. He's a one trick pony. And he talks wayyyy tooo fasttt. I don't even catch half the crap he says. He was interesting on Wednesday Night Fights. He should have stayed there.
Helen Glover can be interesting in short bursts. But she does alot of namecalling from what I've heard. I called the other day and got half a sentence out before she hung up on me. And 80 percent of the time she sounds bored. And she doesn't listen to the people she interviews; just keeps asking them questions they have already answered.
I dunno, they're only a couple of weeks into it, and things may improve. I don't know who they have producing the shows either, and that's going to be key if you've got novices on the air. I used to work with some big Boston talkers in my day, and those egos were bad enough. I was going to put in my resume because I really like the station, but I'm too old for this crap.
