Nothing says LONESTAR like...

Just because YOU think an artist is being overplayed says the playlist isn’t wide enough, doesn’t mean the rest of the target audience agrees. Then you went back and looked again to count the additional plays? It’s pretty obvious to me you’re not in Lonestar’s demo. If you hate what they are doing so much, perhaps you’d be better off contacting the station directly. Running to a bulletin board and showing you have the time to track and post all this information, doesn’t accomplish anything worthwhile.

Well, the one thing we KNOW the target audience thinks is that Lonestar sucks. Because they're down in the latest trends. And down in the trends before that, and the trends before that.

And I laugh at your suggestion. For one thing, I KNOW (from having seen their marketing/sales material) that I'm in their demo. But somehow I doubt that they'd take kindly to a letter or phone call that says "Yeah, hi, I work for another station in town, and I think you suck. Could you change just for me?"

Why would anyone calling or writing in negative feedback to a station, state they work for another station? That is the only thing laughable here.

Whoa…..! Slow down there tiger!

I never suggested don’t post playlists on this site. But posting a playlist and calling it pathetic or unimaginative (sorry, both are subjective) in itself is a waste of time.

IF, CC had a decent Forum on their website for 92.5, that would perhaps make it easier to discuss what is, and what is not being played. MANY stations, not CC, do offer decent forums for listeners to discouss that, and, of course, their Mornings Shows, which they all think is the end all of all things.

Gee, I do not know how I EVER got by as a teen in the 1970's WITHOUT having a "Morning Show" to fill me up each weekday with blue humor, crass jokes, and contrived humor and laughter! ! ! ! !

I gues today's audience is so much more, way more, sophisticated.

I actually thought that a good way to start my morning was with good groovy music that the FM Rock station would generously play. Gee, I never knew how much I was being deprived, because I did not listen to AM Rock radio, where that stuff was apparenlty being fed to it's "AM" audience.

So, BLAME the CC radio websites for not offering a forum to allow it's listeners to discuss what's going on. We do have minds... and can think....
Ooooops, I may have just spoken outside of their target listener's abilities...

:)

Well, for one thing, since I used to work there, they might recognize my name...
2ndly, that was sarcasm...Obviously I wouldn't tell them I worked for another station...

I think one thing we can all agree on is that so far Lonestar is an epic failure. They are doin everything they said they'd never do...tight playlist, spots, boring hosts etc. There were sooooo many bigwig CC chefs in that kitchen wanting to take credit at the launch....Now I hope Duane Doherty isnt bein hung out to dry with him losing KDGE and just being Lonestar PD. That ship may have too many holes already.

Yes, we all know about your disdain for commercial rock radio. I’ve read many of your posts about it, in the past. :)

I just wanted to interject, that when I listened to Rock radio in the 70's, in Austin, Texas (1973-1977) they played cool music, and did not have a "Morning Show"... and... they aired commercials. I like commercial radio.... it's the "other" stuff that I do not look for in a great Rock Music Radio station....

That's my Demographic .. 8)

The over all consensus is radio just reeks overall . Listenership is down. There is no compelling reason to tune in,because some spun research re-spunned, dried baked, add water ,stir for one minute makes an outstanding pastry. Sales people can sell ice to an eskimo if they are that good and deceiving, and since radio is run by those very same sales folks who deceive they will hail success that radio is flourishing.

Yes, but those in the bizness, might argue that it doesn't wreak to it's many listeners that land on it every day. Kind of like saying $&*% doesn't wreak... by looking at all of the flies that it attracts. I guess it just depends on who you ask, and, of course, whether or not you are a fly...

Wow… Look at all the holes (missing songs). All you’re saying here is you dislike a few songs, and are misrepresenting the station’s overall music selection.
