Many stations on FM didn't exist yet. As NWA experienced a population boom in the 90s, there were many sign on's during that time. Here's what I remember about the FM dial in 1989:
92.1 was KEG 92 playing album rock. I wouldn't be surprised if they leaned rock 40 for a brief time during that period as the rock 40 format was doing well during 1989, but I don't recall that.
93.3 didn't exist yet. They signed on sometime during the early 90s and I think they might have been something else briefly before they became The Eagle in the mid 90s.
94.3 was 94 KAMO playing country. Their studios were located on the west side of Rogers at the time.
94.9 didn't exist yet. They started out as a gospel station sometime in the early-mid 90s.
95.7 didn't start until a few years ago.
I remember 95.9 was a low power simulcast of KISR 93.7 out of Fort Smith during 1989.
96.7 didn't exist yet.
I believe 98.3 was a religious station based in Bentonville in 1989. Sunshine 98 perhaps ?
99.5 didn't sign on until about '93 or '94.
101.1 was still KLRC out of Siloam Springs.
101.9 and 102.3 didn't show up until 1992 when it signed on as Hot AC "102 Kiss". It only lasted maybe a couple of years before it became Q102, playing classic rock and trying to go against KEG 92. A few years later, it became Mix 101.9, then Hot Mix 101.9 circa 1999.
103.9 has been country KIX 104 for about as long as I remember.
104.9 was CHR KC-105. KCIZ was the local CHR throughout much of the 80s. Here is an interrupted sampler aircheck of KC 105 in November 1990:

Power 105.7 quickly become dominant and in 1991, KC-105 flipped to I believe oldies and later country. 104.9 The X didn't start until 1996.
As I already posted, you see that 105.7 fliping from K106 to Power 105.7 in 1989.
106.5 didn't exist until about '92 or '93. It has been nostalgia/adult standards ever since.
107.9 had just flipped from easy listening EZ 108 to Magic 107.9.
