Tony said elsewhere that WPLJ would be a good choice to flip to a dance station because it's doing poorly.

WRXP should flip to dance since it's a 2.3 in the ratings.

Nobody should flip to dance since, as David put it, the format hasn't succeeded anywhere in the United States!

Well, somebody flipped to dance, and that station happened to be alternative before the flip, so dance must be going somewhere now.

Problem is, their target dream demo (Brooklyn Hipsters) don't even know what/where/who the station is, let alone listen to terrestrial radio.

Numbers are up, barely. I think that just reflects that now listeners tune out every fifth song rather than every fourth song. Good job getting rid of bad-company after a year of stating the obvious here on the board.

Still, to Brooklyn hipster WRXP is irrelevent. its in the inert set. Never even evoked. But even if it were, it would never fall into the considered set, because you can't get it in the subway. Luckily, technology has fixed that issue. But say it gets into the considered set, it won't ultimitely fall into the main-stream set because its product is lame.

To fix its lame product problem, WRXP should do one of two things: copy the WFNX playlist song for song or contract the services of the stream-that-shall-not-be-named's former music director.  Also, maybe instead of flying their plane at Rockaway beach, they should be buying billboards on the Jefferson-Bedford l-train stops communicating their value proposition: variety.  And then follow through with that communication by posting podcasts / mixtapes on their site (with spots) so that hipsters can get that variety (on the train or at a bar paid to play that podcast wit WRXP imaging).  And hire some f*ing hipsters.  Matt Pinfield, Steve Craig...puh-lease.  These guys are dinosaurs.  They have zero in common with 23-year old purchasing analyst that commutes from Graham ave every day or the 35 year old non-profit director coming over from Smith street.  Nothing in common.
Uhg!

Yes, a station in overcrowded (39 commercial and non-commercial stations) market #141.

There have been no ratings for it yet, so it is hard to call it a success after about 15 days.

That's 1 out of around 15,000 radios stations in the US. I'll bet you can not name 10 more.
