NYC Gets Country... for 3 days only

I rember when xm came out that I thought fm broadcasting on satellite was illegal. there was a press release on the fcc website a few years ago about it when satellite radio came out. or is legal because its the other way around? or did they change the law? any Ideas?
I think its cool what wnye is doing allthough I really hate country.
p.s sorry If i upset people about my post the other day. I was just throwing my opinion in and i guess as usual everyone took in the wrong way.

I had to listen in this morning to WNYE being a radio buff. Seems that after all these years without a country outlet in NYC. the format is as hoaky as ever. It's no wonder it gets no support here.

There's nothing barring simulcasting a radio station on satellite--In XM's infancy, when CC had a little more direct involvement, they simulcast KIIS, WSIX and Houston's Mix and I believe Sirius simulcasts WSM (at least they carry the Grand Ole Opry) and for sure DBs BBC Radio 1. (Both services also carry BBC World Service live.) XM stopped doing it when the music channels went commercial-free and turned KIIS into a separately-programmed channel called KISS XM (the Mix now on XM is also separately programmed from the CC Mix stations).
