O&A and Jim Philips

> hmmm where is Stern headed? who owns 25% of XM?

Are you seriously (no pun intended) implying that Sirius OWNS 25% of XM?!? Can you PLEASE pass me some of whatever you're smoking? 'Cause that must be some PRIMO sh*t! General Motors is the largest shareholder in XM, with (IIRC) 18%. Hughes Electronics, Delphi, and Hyundai are the other major shareholders. Another common misconception is that ClearChannel is a major player. Truth is, they USED to be, but sold their shares back, and currently own less than 1%.

Sirius is hemmoraging cash, giving every Tom, Dick, and Harry in Hollywood a radio show and a very generous contract, (Martha Stewart, Tony Hawk, Jim Breuer, Bam Margera, etc. etc. etc. are all huge names, but that doesn't mean they can do radio) without having the subscribership income to pay for it. Sirius is still posting increasing financial losses (meaning each quarter they slip deeper into debt), while XM is decreasing their losses (they are still posting losses, but they are at least going in the right direction). Also, even in light of Stern going to Sirius, XM is still posting several times more subs per quater than Sirius. Stern is not going to draw the kind of numbers that Sirius needs to pay for his contract.

If you have any doubt, look at the stock prices. Sirius stock is so diluted it will never be worth anything. Anyone who bought in at the IPO will NEVER make their money back.

The real issue was not his stealing the bit,but stating that he would talk to management to make it his own so others can't rip him off

To quote the O&A show, "HELLO EXACTLY!!" Opie played that clip three times and screamed very unterrestrial radio language at that very comment. Like I mentioned, if Philips gave them credit and said he watned to try and improve or take it in another direction, they would have respected taht and let it blow over. They may have even given Philips free pub by following what Philips was doing and how he was doing it. But Philips isn't smart enough to think that far ahead

Stern gave Sirius the Bump it needed

I don't have XM or Sirius, I have experienced both in rental vehicles and when I do purchase a satellite system it will be Sirius, Funny how you are so scared of Sirius, this thread prompting your very first post on the board? Stern has given Sirius the bump it needed, I am not a stock owner of either company however I will be a subscriber to Sirius because I prefer their overall programming, period. If CC sold their stake in XM, please post a link to that news story, I have not ever seen it reported.

Re: Jim Philips and lies...

Jack and Oddo now posting on the O & A message boards, def two distinct types of fans for these programs, the O & A crew have even resorted to posting pics of Jacks wife on their board! well this has gotten nasty

I doubt even Sirius believes that. The future is the scariest thing going at that company. Open your eyes.

Clear Channel sold its stake in June 2003. Read the SEC 8K report - it's all in there.

As to Sirius getting "the bump they needed"... well, for their sake, I hope they'll get more out of Stern next year, because their numbers have yet to really surge. They are growing, but not rapidly, and not in timing with any of their programming announcements.
______________

If I recall, Savage used to be on XM until he found out about it himself, then requested he be removed from their lineup. I believe Mike Gallagher has replaced him.
______________
