They should play alternative music

Yeah with Soul Crusher's "Personalized Playlist"

People would listen, I guarantee it. The audience for the edgier rock that isn't represented on WRAT or G Rock Radio would definitely tune in if this station were to broadcast it. What are these people listening to now? It doesn't have to be the focal point of the station, but it definitely should be played, regardless of whether the format is Active or Alternative.

My opinion: Both of these stations are foolish for shutting out bands like System Of A Down, Tool, Deftones, Slipknot, etc. Especially WRAT, considering how little of the music they play is exclusive to them. Playing these bands along with edgier currents from bands like Atreyu and Bullet For My Valentine would help to give them a unique identity in the market.

On the subject of this new radio station: They're relatively small, so they should think small. Go for a niche format of some kind, perhaps a community events/talk format or conservative leaning talk (LBI definitely leans to the right), or perhaps a music format such as Adult Standards or the aforementioned Rock format. Of course, if you're going for a format that's already represented, give the station enough of a unique personality to make it worth listening to, through the programming or the presentation - or better yet, both.

And with weather radio on AM, it's already going after Ocean County's famous 50+ audience! Man, you guys can't ever catch a break.

This is totally ignoring the 18-24 male demographic in OC. If anything this should be an urban station. Just not country cause the market is far too saturated.

Nah, I really think this market needs more Country. I mean, it doesn't get more backwoods than suburban New Jersey. No one here misses a single NASCAR event, and they all drink lots of Schlitz and Old Milwaukee while telling the old ball and chain to leave them alone. In fact, I know lots of people that took out a second mortgage on their house/trailer so that they could increase their chewing tobacco and strip club budget! I had a couple of Piney types where I used to work that actually took about a couple of weeks off for bereavement reasons, but they weren't mourning the loss of a loved one - they were upset when The Nashville Network ceased to exist and there was no place to see hunting, fishing and rodeo programming! A sad day indeed. I for one think it's very unfortunate that Country fans only have three stations (in some cases, only two!) to choose from - maybe that's why these country singers and their fans seem to have the long face all the time. I think all three big time media conglomerates should abandon their other stations and program only Country, Classic Rock and AC formats. The people that are fans of each respective format are so underserved that it's ridiculous, and rather than having only 2 stations to listen to (the poor things), they should have at least 4 instead! That sounds fair to me. Forget the rest of the people, because they don't mean a thing. Let's give the people who spend hours sitting next to their radios with a sprig of alfalfa in their mouths something to choose from. Why should all the people around here that walk around carrying a banjo have to suffer any longer? I'm telling you, Greater Media and Millennium need to stop ignoring this demo and take Alan Jackson's advice - GO COUNTRY!!!

(In best "kiddie blue" posting voice)

They shuld go danse. I love danse and every station shuld be playing danse music, y0! We already have 2 many rock stations, ugh! Old peepel make me sick.

(end voice and sarcasm)
