Re: Ocean County doesn't need a station like WRAT

Does that affect people in WRAT's 70dBu contour, where most listening takes place?
> -The population in Southern Ocean County is now over 100,000
Which still pales in comparison to the rest of the county, which is up to more than 500,000, while Monmouth County has more than 600,000.

True, but that was only 10 years ago, and S. Oc. Co. is still less than a tenth of the market as a whole. If you look at
density the ratings start to make a lot more sense.

WADB had greater than a 5 share in <a href=http://web.archive.org/web/19961113225811/www.rronline.com/rating10.htm>Spring 96</a>.
Fact is the 95.9 signal has much more potential than a 2-share. It's the format, not the signal.
As an aside, if Southern Ocean County were a separate market (and you've argued before that it should be), it would rank in the 250 range. Very few markets that small have both an Active Rocker and an Alternative station. You shouldn't expect every Rock niche to be filled, because there's just not enough people to support them.
