There was an interesting liner from the Frosty, Heidi & Frank show on 790 KABC. It said: "Same show. Less fidelity.” FH&F used to be on KLSX 97.1 when it was talk and before that station became KAMP with a CHR format.
But KABC has been broadcasting in HD-AM for several years now (they were one of the first in L.A. to go HD). So what is the liner implying; that the analog signal sounds lousy (because of the severe roll-off to accommodate IBOC), that the show doesn't sound as good on HD-AM as it did on analog FM, an admission that so few Angelenos are listening in HD and are therefore enduring telephone quality audio in order to hear FH&F?
It's also interesting that KABC let this go on air rather than tout the allegedly superior audio of HD.
