And you never know who may be interested in the frequency if Arpin lets it go. I'd much prefer Steve "The Troll" Conti's jazz on there rather than some 3d rate dreck...

Music from 1959-1974, except for a speciality Disco show on Sunday Afternoons. Mostly all local. A few syndicated shows including ELVIS ONLY, Dick Bartley, and Goddard's Gold.

If I had the money and desire to build that place back up, I certainly would not load it up with Music programming. I think the audience who tunes into the AM band for music programming has dwindled down to nothing. Also take into account WALE's weird signal pattern. I wouldn't take nice music and ruin it by putting it on a static filled AM frequency. Not nearly enough people would listen. That's why they made FM.
But what I would do is turn it into a talk station with the most incredibly shocking jocks I could find. People like you've never heard before doing all kinds of wacky radio. It would be so different than anything else out there that people wouldn't be able to stay away. Live interviews where the host takes a wireless mic out on the street and starts interviewing nutty people. Homeless people, crack addicts or just your run of the mill weirdos. The station would also create game shows that the audience can play along with. Give away some cheap prizes too. I would also create some wild promotions to get the word out. Things like Bikini car washes with station banners all over the place. We could also organize a freak festival where all kinds of weirdos could come and gather for food and fun times. Get some oddball bands too and broadcast from there for a weekend. A few select freaks could have their own show. I'm talking about totally off the wall ideas to make it the most interesting radio station to exist anywhere.
I would name the station SHOCK 990. The place where you can hear ANYTHING! I already know what many of you are saying though. I've lost my mind. Well that's OK. Take a listen to the selection of bland stations on your dial. It's about time someone like me lost their mind. This city needs it~
You know what else? Most of you would tune in every single day.
How are you going to pay all these local jocks?

990 being off the air, OR
WARL 1320 being ON THE AIR.
