I wouldn't say I necessarily feel any "anger", because nothing on these boards actually gives me reason to be angry, but rather... I feel as if I'm wasting time talking sometimes. I use the facebook freestyle artist feud and these boards as an example of certain types of unnecessary drama, but when I say I'm focusing on more music & less talk, I mean that in general- both in and outside of these boards, and especially in regard to some of the type of controversial, uncomfortable topics I tend to bring up and discuss.
My main desire and purpose is to deliver music to the fans, and especially to deliver a certain type of sound to the people who love it, the same way I wish I had someone to deliver it to me when I was growing up. Not to spread my opinions and point of views to offend people who disagree, create unnecessary trouble or tension, and get people upset.. (which tends to happen if you "say the wrong things" or things people don't wish to hear).
For many reasons, these days, I think it's a bright idea to use your right to remain silent, unless you have something genuinely important you wish to contribute. I don't see discussing or suggesting dance music as "evil" as discussing politics, stereotypes, religion, and other things of that nature. But apparently, to some people, it is just as disturbing, and it, too, can create unnecessary drama (on these boards) the same way pointing out certain facts about... other things in life... can cause an unnecessary uproar. These days, in an age where everyone is hypersensitive and quick to take things personally and (seriously) overreact BEFORE thinking (especially on the net), it's best to tone down the talk and messing around a bit and keep focused on what my main goal and desire is here. "The more you stay focused and the less you talk, the less chance you have of saying or doing something stupid that could create an unnecessary problem" - and this goes for pretty much ALL areas of life, including these radio boards.
Lastly, I'm not sure if people can easily tell whether or not I'm joking & messing around on these boards, but I will say that I've received some direct & indirect complaints for "talking / messing around too much", or making people feel uncomfortable at times with the type of serious topics I tend to discuss and views I have towards them on various sites. Making people feel uncomfortable, creating unnecessary arguments, losing (potential) fans/friends, creating situations in which problems may arise...etc. are obviously not within my goal / desire path. It's ok to have a debate, but if it's a senseless battle that's going no where and will lead to nothing but more unnecessary talking and fighting, then it's best to remain silent. Anything you don't say cannot sensibly be held against you.
Anyway, this does not mean I'm leaving, or "ditching" these boards, but simply that I wont be focusing my attention on posting or responding to anything unless it's seriously & necessarily important to me. Saying a certain station or format style will fail because you hate or have a bias against it will no longer be enough to provoke me to respond. 2011 = More promotion, networking, & music. Less unnecessary banter & chatter.
