OH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Not that I like it, but.....
the format may actually do well. If WEMG can pull more or less a 1 share on a small AM, I wouldn't be surprised if the new 104.5 pulls at least a 3 share within a year. It's the only Hispanic ballgame on FM, and with a bigger audience pool than a small AM, the FM Hispanic should see some numbers.
By the way....
I like the English speaking spots.

I was gonna say, I found it rather peculiar that, not more than 12 minutes after a major format launch in a major radio market they broke for spots!!!

Here's a scenario I thought of......CC already runs Phillies en espanol on 1480AM. Might we see that on 104.5 come next season? After all, baseball is hugely popular in the Hispanic community, altho football is gaining popularity (perhaps thru the NFLatino initiative).

it 12:05 and this s*** sucks I feel like im in mexico.cc f*** up big time

Actually, to be more accurate, you probably feel like you're in Puerto Rico. The music of a Regional Mexican format has more of a polka sound to it.

the count down is on to the next format on 104.5!!! I change my mind not 6 months now I say 2 months
Even if this station was the end up with the worse rating ever, they wouldn't flip it after 2 months. They wouldn't even know its stinks yet. It would take a few rating books before they would give up.

Well... I am Hating it. Sunny was replaced by this?? Again where is the justification? Who asked for it?

As I menitioned before..............

This is a DISGRACE !![/size]

Clear Channel doesn't need any one to ask for it nor do they need justification, they're the big kid in the lunchroom. They don't need your permission for your lunch money they just take it. Now quiet down with your big fonts it doesn't make your point any more valid.

You don't like the station... GUESS WHAT it ain't aimed at you... soooo STOP LISTENING. Or at least stop posting in all big letters.

Oh...lets see.........last time I checked this was America.

Yes, it is not targeted for me, but a station that was, in this case two stations, which were, were taken away. What's left to replace the 'unique' two stations which were taken away??? NO, not B101. Nothing.

So go ahead and Enjoy your non American station. (also....I will post in any font size I wish)

Very True...they can set up whatever kind of station they want and think serves a need. Just because it's not something most of us here can even listen to since we dont speak the language, doesnt mean that it's a stupid move on their part. Look at 97.9 KSQ in NYC. Spanish and almost near the top in the ratings. Yes, it's a different market, but I'm sure they'll pull in some reasonable ratings with this. Just my 2 cents.

Last I checked the great thing about America was it was accepting of all people. I missed the memo I guess where we don't accept minorities any more.

Silly me.

Who asked for it? All the Hispanics who are sick of listening to weak signaled static filled AM Stations, that's who. First it was 900 then 1310. And who can forget that stupid South Jersery FM Station that tried to be a Philly Spanish station?

But in a market that is only 5% Hispanic, what calls for a powerful full-market signal? Were WEMG 1310 a massive success, the situation would be different, but when the market's only Spanish-language station is pulling just over half a share 12+, how much demand is there?

And as for "that stupid South Jersery FM Station", WEMG-FM 104.9, that's Mega Communications in action!

What calls for it is the same thing that calls for ANY OTHER CHANGE... the company thinks it can make more money than with the previous format... why is that hard to grasp? With all these people with their ridiculous "It's America! We speak American!" arguments can't any one see past their thinly veiled racism and realize that the America you know and love is a FRICKING CAPTIALIST COUNTRY!?!?!

You don't like the music, I got no qualms with you. You don't see the point in putting a spanish speaking station on with a small demo of Spanish speaking people... ok that makes sense. You think there would be a better choice to better serve the listenership I buy that too.

But don't give me the "what calls for this" when most of you who have a clue know the only color in the radio industry is green. They think they can make more money, they're gonna try it. Don't listen and don't buy the products they advertise that's the capitialistic way of letting them have it. All your whining on this board does nothing other than make me giggle.
