Clear Channel Communications, Inc. has agreed to be acquired by a group led by of Thomas H. Lee Partners, L.P. and Bain Capital Partners LLC, in a transaction with a total equity value of approximately $18.7 billion at a price of $37.60 per share in cash, subject to an upward adjustment “ticking fee” in the event the transaction closes on or after January 1, 2008.
If I understand correctly, the Mays family will still own the percentage they own now, but the percentage currently publicly owned will be owned by this group of investors? I know little about mergers, etc. Anyone know what this really all means?
