Old commercials still being used

Curt Gowdy:

"Hi, Neighbor!"

"Have a 'Gansett"

"Narragansett Lager Beer!"

And the world kept saying: "Gimme a Narrrrrryyyy" to the eternal chagrin of the brewers.

Different guy, same family -

"I can sell you a new tye-yoda or used cahh for less....because ow-ah cawsts ah less."

Isn't that John Pinette who says "meet me at Foxwoods"? Also, they even had a spanish language ad for awhile with the same music.

It's John Pizzarelli, the jazz musician. John Pinette is the large comedian who played the carjacking victim on the final Seinfeld episode.

no.. I know Pizzarelli is singing it but.. at the end, a raspy voiced guy says "meet me at Foxwoods" and it sounds like Pinette. He used to do commercials for steak, too.. considering his girth, maybe that's not such a great idea.

Sheraton?

Yup.

Spent a week in their Portland (Maine) hotel one night. Used a due-bill; glad it wasn't real money. Wonder if that building yet survives....this was back around 1966.

I know this one was a TV ad, but does anyone remember what business had the phone number 272-4070?

I STILL have that one memorized.

"Can a phone call change your life? This one quite possibly could....." (camera slowly closes in on a touch-tone phone)

Channel 56!

It was for ITT Technical Institute.

Waaaa-Waaa-Wachusett... Wachusett Mountain, mountain skiing, minutes away...

That's been running in some form or another since the late 80s/early 90s.
It's interesting you bring that one up, because it sounds like they just re-did it this year. The one that had been used previously had been used since I can remember. I even remember one year, they played most of it, and then in the middle of it, they made it sound like the record scratched, and they said, "WAIT A MINUTE!!! Don't you think it's time for a new song?"

I remember another one like that. I remember the jingle was "I want my babybackbabybackbabyback" for Baby Back Ribs", or whatever it was. But this one time, it was like a radio station, and someone had called in and requested the song, and the DJ said "It's a commercial!!!" And they got into a little argument, and the DJ said, "Okay, but this is the last time!" and then the song started.
