bizaree music playing. onviously some "technical testing" going on. tracking elevator music (the old fashioned kind...instrumental of popular songs)

seriously..Queen's WE WILL ROCK YOU...instrumental, with cellos doing the Queen vocals.

Mybe they're on to something?

Could be to keep the license alive. "WWHK Concord" followed by a few hours of that music and the clock resets!

Speaking of which, what is the latest on 102.3, or in fact the other FMs? I know 99.1 and 101.5 have been running the Maine classical network, and 102.3 has been off the air (apparently until now).

so testing, appraently again on 102.3 (Concord). instrumental (like the Boston Pops) version of Love Her Madly by the Doors. Same time period as last time, and an eas test alert too!

curious....

nothing new?

Scott Fybush, you'd think, would have heard something. that new company (Birch?) was suppose to be on the air with this station.

According to their silent STA filing they went dark 6/15/2011, so they have until 6/14/2012 to get some kind of signal on the air even for a couple of weeks.

It's on tonight (6/8/12) and ID'ing as Easy Listening Radio 102.3 FM and playing classical covers of hit songs. I really hope this is only a stunt and not the new format...

I am hearing a "classical cover" of Journey's "Don't Stop Believing".. Clever, interesting, and funny. ;D. 'Imaging' voice does sound familiar..

I am hearing from a source with a NH Nassau station that WNNH will eventually be changed over to a classic hits format from the new Carlisle Group.

What the heck is “classical covers of hit songs“? That sounds like an oxymoron to me. Perhaps you meant “ instrumental easy listening covers of hit songs“, that makes more sense.

whoops...

Clark Smidt (original owner of WNNH) is somehow involved here.

most likely a Classic Hits fomat..."Oldies"

Smidt owned the phrase CLASSIC GOLD and used it for awhile at wnnh( oLDIES 99).

on tonight for awhile.

must be a stunt (although outside us, and stopping a scan..who'd be listening?)

NOBODY would do this on purpose. No audience. If you'd like the old instrumental Easy Listening format...it wouldn't be with these songs.

It could be for testing/adjusting the processing, or just to keep the license alive without tipping their hand as to format...they were getting close to the magic 1 year mark.
I'd like to know where they got that music from...maybe old Muzak tapes?
