Oldest Extant Off-Air VHS/Beta Tape You Have

Came across my most bizarre find yet, a long aircheck for The Playboy Channel from (probably) 1983. It included an episode of Dueling for Playmates, a rare "gameshow" that seemingly many people online are searching for.

Perhaps with the age verification in case there's, you know...
I get my tapes from Oakdale, CA very soon, in the next few days.

Unfortunately, my apartment's leasing office is closed for the day, and my 69-tape box from Oakdale CA was 'out for delivery.' So we'll have to wait until Monday to start digging into this lot of Sacramento/possibly Bay Area stuff. This lot comes from an old man who passed away and had literally THOUSANDS of tapes, he recorded something almost 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Great stuff to come, mostly 1997-98. Talk shows (Regis & Kathie Lee, Howie Mandel, The View, also late night shows), sitcoms (both first-run and older reruns), dramas (again, both first-run and older shows in syndicated reruns), lots of KVIE cooking shows and wildlife programs, Dateline, Nightline, etc. He put up another lot of 69 tapes with a lot of early '90s tape boxes, but it was taken down due to an error in the listing...

Well, you can scratch that...they came. It was delivered in a Home Depot box, and the mailman said 'you sure Home Depot is shipping rocks now?' Lol. At least they weren't left at the P.O. until Monday. I'll be going through them over the next several weeks but I pulled the initial 4 out today, first tape is the 10/17/98 (early Sat.) Late Late Show with Tom Snyder off KOVR/CBS with commercials (guest Dr. Ruth Westheimer and producer David Milch), 'The Forgotten City of the Planet of the Apes' (1980) taped off KQCA the same early morning with commercials, apparently it also has a KGO-taped episode of Topper after that...the 1950s sitcom, which they aired at 4 or 5 in the morning on Saturdays. He taped EVERYTHING and it shows! Three more to go through in full before I pull the next few outta storage, one looks like a pre-1990 Chrome Master.

First VHS finds in about a month from a garage sale in Medina. Eight tapes found, but only two keepers.

TAPE 1: Several episodes of Mister Ed taped from Nickelodeon's "Horsing Around with Mister Ed" marathon in February 1987, some episodes have commercials, most do not--this is now my oldest content from Nickelodeon. RCA T-120.

TAPE 2: Ghost (1990) taped from Cinemax circa 1991; Next of Kin (1989) taped from Cinemax circa 1991; Road House (1989) and part of Last Call (1991) taped from Cinemax in October 1991 with promos in between. Memorex T-120.

I probably would have had another keeper had it not had trouble playing in my VCR. This one was a Sony T-120 that was supposed to have episodes of Crossing Over with John Edward taped from the Sci-Fi Channel. It started with what looked like the last few minutes of a movie that aired before hand, so these episodes probably would have had the commercials included, but when I played it, the video sped up and the audio went silent. Then when I ejected it, the VCR had pulled the tape out of the cassette. Luckily, I tried playing back a newer tape after this happened, and it didn't have anymore problems.

Another one of the duds contained several episodes of New Country and Nashville Now on TNN taped circa 1987 minus commercials--this is now my oldest content from TNN. The kicker is these were apparently copied from other tapes onto a TDK T-120 circa 1998 (per a partial Miller Lite commercial at the beginning before the second VCR plays one of the master tapes).

Earlier today there was an 'emergency' estate liquidation at a house about 2 miles from home. I stopped by for about a half hour on my way to the college for math class and found some tapes. I also picked up two retail tapes - both parts of 'Patton' from the original Magnetic Video release in 1980! Boxes are crisp and the tape might have been played 2 times, if that. Both of the tapes are approximately 90 minutes.
Tape 1 - Pavarotti Plus: Live from Lincoln Center taped off KYVE/PBS on 1/6/1986 with several local segments in between acts; part of 'An Early Frost' (1985) taped off KNDO/NBC 11/11/1985 with commercials and very beginning of NewsCenter 23 at 11. Sony T-120
Tape 2 - Coverage of the 1995 Breeder's Cup and start of Notre Dame football taped off KNBC/NBC 10/28/1995 with commercials; nearly-complete episode of JAG and The John Larroquette Show taped off KNBC/NBC 10/21/1995 with commercials; ends with the last 5 minutes of Legend taped off KCOP/UPN 4/18/1995 with commercials, and a 2-minute clip of Donahue circa 1994 before the tape ran out. Maxell T-120
Tape 3 - Wide World of Sports' coverage of the 112th Preakness Stakes taped off KAPP/ABC 5/16/1987 with commercials. Scotch T-120
Tape 4 - The 120th Kentucky Derby taped off KAPP/ABC 5/7/1994 with commercials; the 119th Preakness Stakes taped off KABC/ABC 5/21/1994 with commercials; the 1994 Belmont Stakes taped off KABC/ABC 6/11/1994 with commercials. Fuji T-120.

I'm still going through the Oakdale CA lot and will update in a few weeks. There's a lot of late '80s tapes in the bottom of the box and I've found a mix of stuff mostly from '88. Still some late '90s items to go through as well.

Three tapes found at a yard sale today.
Tape 1 - 'Imitation of Life' (1959) taped off AMC circa 1995 with host segments/promos (starts with an unknown movie for the first 14 mins. and the beginning of the movie is missing with the VCR on a channel with static). Blank after 2 hours, Scotch T-120 tape.
Tape 2 - 'Band of Angels' (1957) taped off TBS 10/5/1993 with commercials. Sony T-120, in SP mode (and taped over several recordings including some local newscast)
Tape 3 - 'Bend of the River' (1952) and 'Niagara' (1953) taped off AMC 9/5/1995 with promos. KMC T-120 (a 1980s NBC football game got taped over by the AMC stuff)

I went through another new Oakdale CA tape recently that had 'The Muppet Movie' taped off KTXL, World Tomorrow off KOVR, partial Meet the Press from KCRA, and a Scooby-Doo TV-movie off KSCH, all with commercials. I'm still trying to work through ones that I brought up from storage initially first, before I go into the next few outside...

Nice find on some PBS content from January 1986 as well as some KNDO content from November 1985 on one of your tapes that you got from the emergency estate liquidation.

Nice find on some PBS content from January 1986 as well as some KNDO content from November 1985 on that first tape.

I made a mistake on the Tape 3 from the emergency estate sale - it was marked by the original owner as the 1987 Preakness Stakes, it was actually the *1988* Preakness Stakes, taped May 21st. Guessing she forgot to white out the year on the label.
Apparently the 2nd half of 'Band of Angels' was in SLP, so I was able to find about half of David Letterman's 4th CBS episode taped off KIMA 9/2-3/1993 with commercials, and a brief clip of Law & Order afterwards, taped over.

First several tapes from the Oakdale CA lot. There's still over 55 tapes out in storage that I've yet to go through. Basically, I've found everything and anything on these tapes. And it looks like everything was taped in either 1988, or 1998. Nothing in between (so far). The only exceptions are half-hour kids cartoons and PBS kids programming, they have been non-existent so far. I've even found occasional religious programs.

Tape 1 - 'The Lord of the Rings' (1978), the animated film, taped off KSCH-58 Stockton in November 1988 minus commercials; 'Yogi & The Invasion of the Space Bears' (1988) taped off KSCH-58 in late November 1988 with most commercials; 'David Copperfield' (1935) taped off KAIL-53 Fresno in December 1988 minus commercials; President Reagan's final news conference taped off KCRA 12/8/1988, ends with about 10 minutes of MacNeil-Lehrer NewsHour commentary following said speech off KVIE, and about 10 minutes of the 12/8/1988 Johnny Carson monologue taped off KCRA. GoldStar T-120. These 1980s tapes had no label as to what was on them, they were only marked with a number. This was tape #1064. The 1998 tapes had a massive sticky note on the front of the box with the programs, time counter, and even the channel number! '31' - KMAX, '10' - KXTV, etc. but they didn't have a tape number on them. He probably lost track with how many thousands were recorded on.
Tape 2 - Great Performances presentation of Mikado and episode of Comedy Tonight taped off KVIE/PBS 10/28/1988 with promos; 'The Last Starfighter' (1984) taped off KXTV/CBS 10/28-29/1988 with commercials (CBS Late Night); Fueling the Future and episode of Innovation with Jim Hartz taped off KVIE/PBS 10/29/1988 with promos, ends with a clip from KCRA Channel 3 Reports in December 1988 about buying Christmas gifts for pets. RCA T-120 (#1075)
Tape 3 - Starts with a 4-minute clip of The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson taped in September 1988; 'The Strange Love of Martha Ivers' (1946) taped off KRBK-31 in September 1988 with commercials (Movie Greats Network); 'Topper' (1979) taped off KSCH in September 1988 minus commercials; brief clip of Improv Tonight (apparently syndicated) followed by 'The Lords of Flatbush' (1974) taped off KVIE in October 1988; Sally Jessy Raphael taped off KOVR minus commercials (interview with Betty White); ends with a brief clip of Donahue taped in London taped off KCRA-3 10/3/1988 with one commercial break, and part of the 10/14/1988 Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson taped off KCRA/NBC minus commercials. BASF T-120 (#1021)
Tape 4 - Late Late Show with Tom Snyder taped off KOVR/CBS 10/17/1998 with commercials; 'The Forgotten City of the Planet of the Apes' (1980) taped off KQCA-58 10/17/1998 with commercials; two episodes of Topper (the 1950s series) taped off KGO-7 10/17/1998 with commercials (they aired Topper Saturday mornings at 5-6am); 'Robin Hood' (1973) taped off KQCA-58 at noon the same day with commercials, and ends with the first 10 minutes of 'Kissinger & Nixon' (1995) taped off KQCA later that afternoon. RCA T-120
Tape 5 - Begins with a brief KOVR 13 News clip, taped November 15th, 1988, 'Police Academy 3: Back in Training' (1986) taped off KXTV/CBS 11/15/1988 minus commercials; Wings Over Water taped off an unknown PBS station on 11/15/1988 (either KVIE or KVPT); clips from The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson taped off KCRA/NBC 11/15-16/1988 minus commercials (with Jay Leno and George Miller); part of Inside the Sexes taped off KXTV/CBS 11/21/1988 minus commercials; The Comedy Store's 15th Class Reunion taped off KCRA/NBC 11/23/1988 *with* commercials; ends with about half of 20/20 taped off KOVR/ABC 11/25/1988 minus commercials. Goldstar T-120 (#1065)
Tape 6 - The American Woodshop and Hometime episodes taped off KVIE/PBS 10/10/1998 with promos; episode of Jack Hanna's Animal Adventures and infomercial for the AutoBike taped off KXTV/ABC 10/10/1998 with commercials; Highlander: The Raven taped off KTXL-40 10/10/1998 with commercials; MadTV and Comedy Showcase taped later that night off KTXL with commercials; episode of Topper taped off KGO-7 10/11/1998 with commercials, ends with half of This Week with Cokie Roberts & Sam Donaldson taped off KXTV/ABC 10/11/1998 minus commercials. RCA T-120

Way more to go through in the next several weeks!

Been slowly going through 2 or 3 mountainous stacks of tapes lately, here is one I finished:

February 10, 1991: ABC Sunday Night Movie airing of "Big" from WLOS 13 small network affiliate in Asheville/Greenville/Spartanburg market

March 3, 1991: CBS broadcast of Duke at North Carolina, sadly missing last 2:30 from WSPA 7 same market as listed above.

Tape was a Samsung HQS (High Quality Standard) which sounds like a bit of an oxymoron though it played back well, even at LP format, which usually has severe issues on VCRs made post 2000.

I've been scanning some erroneously labeled tapes of 1980s content from local independent channels from North Carolina, so content from WGGT 48 and WKFT 40 are soon to come.

Awesome VHS haul today at an estate sale. Several tapes were unlabeled, so I had no idea what were on them until I played them. The house was owned by a man who built it from the ground up and owned his own contracting/construction business that designed a lot of schools and other buildings in the valley, and Oregon too.

Tape 1 - Home Improvement & Grace Under Fire episodes taped off KAPP/ABC 11/1/1994 with commercials; Home Improvement & Grace Under Fire taped off KAPP/ABC 11/22/1994 with commercials; end of Frasier and Dateline NBC taped off KNDO/NBC 6/23/1994 with commercials; last hour of 'Greyhounds' (1994) and Picket Fences taped off KIMA/CBS 6/24/1994 with commercials. Scotch T-120
Tape 2 - Block of NBC Must See TV taped off KNDO/NBC on 3/17/1994 with commercials: Mad About You, The Mommies, Seinfeld and Frasier; partial broadcast of 'Gypsy' (1993) taped off KIMA/CBS 12/12/1993 with commercials; NYPD Blue taped off KAPP/ABC 10/19/1993 with commercials; part of 'The Neon Empire' (1989) taped off Showtime in 1989 with lots of promos afterwards (not exactly sure if it's the original broadcast or not); partial broadcasts of 'Plenty' (1985) and 'Ground Zero' (1987) taped off The Movie Channel circa August 1989. Sony T-120
Tape 3 - How to Prevent a Heart Attack, 'Above the Law' (1987), 'Death Hunt' (1981) and part of 'Twins' (1988) taped off HBO 6/17-18/1990 with promos; part of 'A New Leaf' (1971) and part of 'A Question of Honor' (1982) taped off Showtime in 1989 with several promos. Sony T-120
Tape 4 - Both parts of 'Love & Hate: A Marriage Made in Hell' (1989) taped off KNDO/NBC 7/15 and 7/16/1990 with commercials; part of the pilot for Gibbsville taped off Showtime in April 1990 with promos; last several minutes of 'Alien Nation' (1989) taped off The Movie Channel 12/21/1989 with promos (the late-night 'VCR Overnite' presentation); last 20 minutes of 'The Big Sleep' (1978) and start of 'Dead of Winter' (1987) taped off Cinemax in July 1988. Panasonic T-120
Tape 5 - Northwest Outdoors with Wally Pease episode (local show) taped off KYVE/47 around November 1991; Pacific Station clip taped off KNDO/NBC 10/13/1991 with commercials (a rare find - only lasted half a season); 'E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial' (1982) and Brooklyn Bridge taped off KIMA/CBS Thanksgiving 1991 with commercials; part of 'She Said No' (1990) taped off KNDO/NBC 9/23/1990 with commercials; 'The Dead Pool' taped off HBO around October 1990. Scotch T-120
Tape 6 - Norman Schwartzkopf Riyadh news conference (taped at midnight local time) and 1AM sign off taped off KAPP/ABC 2/28/1991 with commercials (the sign-off video is an older print too...never seen on YouTube!); after about 2 hours of static, the tape reverts back to part of 'Heart of Midnight' (1988) and start of HBO Comedy Hour: Blake Clark taped off HBO in October 1990 with promos; 'The Chocolate War' (1988) and part of 'A Man for Sale' (1978 - softcore porn) taped off Showtime in October 1990 with promos. Sony T-120
Tape 7 - Moon Over Miami pilot and episode of Coach taped off KAPP/ABC 9/15/1993 with commercials; The John Larroquette Show and Cafe Americanin taped off KNDO/NBC 1/4/1994 with commercials; episode of Birdland taped off KAPP/ABC 1/5/1994 with commercials. Scotch T-120

Sony T-120
Tape 9 - 'Carolina Skeletons' (1991) and start of KNDO News 23 taped off KNDO/NBC 9/30/1991 with commercials; 20/20 episode (with Dan Quayle) taped off KAPP/ABC 10/18/1991 with commercials; part of 'The Naked Gun' (1988) taped off KIMA/CBS 10/1/1991 with commercials; Major Dad, Murphy Brown and Designing Women episodes taped off KIMA/CBS 12/3/1990 with commercials; part of The Slap Maxwell Story taped off KAPP/ABC 9/30/1987 with commercials, the oldest find from this lot. Maxell T-120
Tape 10 - Entire Must See TV block from 10/3/1996 (Friends/The Single Guy/Seinfeld/Suddenly Susan) taped off KNDO/NBC with commercials; part of the Seattle Mariners/Texas Rangers game, and most of Los Angeles Dodgers/Colorado Rockies game taped off ESPN 7/6/1996 with commercials; part of Homicide: Life on the Street and about half of News 23 Late Edition taped off KNDO/NBC 4/5/1996 with commercials. Polaroid T-120
Tape 11 - About 10 minutes of personal camera footage showing the damage near the owner's home, of the Flood of 1996. Cool find!
There were a few other tapes I left, including another old Panasonic that looked unused to me, and a Scotch tape that I almost grabbed until I saw the *ate-up* tape inside. Uh, no thanks.

Only tape I've found lately (specifically this past Thursday) was one that I found at a place where I usually don't find used blanks--the local Salvation Army Family Store. This one was a Universal T-120 that contained TBS showings of Live and Let Die (1973) and The Man with the Golden Gun (1974) taped on May 12-13, 1993 with commercials. There was actually another tape there that I left behind, a Scotch T-120 supposedly containing Barney in Concert (likely copied from a rental tape, as IMDB says it was a direct-to-video release from 1991, a year before the show premiered on PBS).

Some more finds as I slowly go through the Oakdale lot. Still 50+ tapes in storage! I think everything in this lot is of two timeframes - fall 1988 and summer-fall 1998. Nothing in between, older or later. Remember, the old man was a hoarder and especially on the newer tapes, used a sticky note to write EVERY program he taped. And based off some of my tapes, he may have had 2 or even 3 VCR's running at once with different channels...

Tape 7 - Part 1 of 'The Great Escape II: The Untold Story' taped off KCRA/NBC 11/6/1988 and 11/7/1988, with some commercials (very poor signal at times on the first part); 'Sing, You Sinners' (1938) and Benny Hill taped off KTXL-40 early morning 11/9/1988 with commercials. Master T-120
Tape 8 - Partial episode of Martha Stewart Living taped off KXTV/ABC 8/12/1998 with some commercials; Style & Substance taped off KOVR/CBS the same night with one commercial break, then flips over to KXTV/ABC for Whose Line is it Anyway? and Primetime Live with some commercials; Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher taped early morning 8/13/1998 off KXTV/ABC minus commercials; episode of Teen Angel taped off KXTV/ABC 8/14/1998 with some commercials; 20/20 follows minus commercials; flips over to KTXL-40 for a Roseanne rerun with commercials, then back to KXTV for Nightline and Politically Incorrect with most of the commercials; about 20 minutes of This America with Dennis Wholey taped off KQED/PBS 8/15/1998, and ends with an hour of Jerry Baker's Lawn Care taped off KVIE/PBS 8/15/1998. Fuji T-120
Tape 9 - Dateline NBC taped off KCRA/NBC 8/7/1998 with commercials in SLP mode, and then cuts to SP mode for Live with Regis & Kathie Lee (my first episode!) and part of The Price is Right taped off KOVR/CBS 8/17/1998 with commercials. Sony T-*160*, half of it blank!
Tape 10 - Two Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reruns (both parts of the series finale) taped off KMAX-31 8/24/1998 with commercials; The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer and Central Valley Chronicles taped off KVIE/PBS 8/24/1998 with promos; 21st Century Jet: Making of the Boeing 777 taped off KVIE later that night; Martha Stewart Living taped off KXTV-10 8/25/1998 with commercials; partial clip from KXTV's noon news (caramel apple pie recipe); NewsHour with Jim Lehrer taped off KQED/PBS 8/25/1998; double-run of Fresh Prince reruns taped off KMAX-31 8/25/1998 with commercials (pilot and second episode), and ends with part of Magnificent Journeys taped off KVIE in late August 1998. Sony T-120

Friday and Saturday VHS finds, and there's LOTS of them. Some cool finds mixed in too!

These Friday finds came from an indoor flea market/antique place in downtown Ellensburg (had to go up there for errands).
Tape 1 - Part 4 of The Eagle's Nest taped off The Discovery Channel 10/28/1988 with commercials; clip of KING-5's Evening taped in late October 1988 (on skinheads), another clip of Evening with Geraldo Rivera interview; Color of Honor: Japanese-American Soldiers in World War II taped off unknown PBS station (either KCTS or KYVE) sometime in November 1988; Top Secret! (Hitler documentary) taped off Discovery Channel minus commercials; ends with Battleline taped off A&E in late 1988 minus commercials. Scotch T-120
Tape 2 - "Janek: Murder Times Seven" (1990) taped off Court TV in May 1999 with commercials, SP mode. Fuji T-120
Tape 3 - Part 2 of 'Helter Skelter' (1976) taped off TBS 10/26/1988 with commercials; episode of Wiseguy taped off KIRO/CBS 10/26/1988 with commercials; another episode of Wiseguy taped off KIRO/CBS 11/2/1988 with commercials; ends with about 10 minutes of some British drama taped from PBS. Maxell T-120
Tape 4 - Mostly KTBW/TBN stuff from October 2008: Episodes of Xtreme Life Television and Team Impact, The Story of the Apostles, Gina D's Kids Club, The King is Coming, Kingdom Connection, RPC, Precious Memories with Bill & Gloria Gaither, Behind the Scenes with Paul Crouch, Andrew Wommack, Life Today, partial Praise the Lord, and partial Doctor to Doctor. Maxell T-120, not uploading any of the promo segments, and will just send to eBay as a 'blank tape' in a lot.
Tape 5 - Episodes of The Waltons, Little House on the Prairie and two episodes of Walker, Texas Ranger taped off Hallmark Channel 10/2/2008 with commercials; episodes of The Waltons and Little House on the Prairie taped off Hallmark Channel 10/3/2008 with commercials. TDK T-120
Tape 6 - MacNeil/Lehrer NewsHour segment with Kurt Waldheim taped 4/27/1987 off KCTS (I presume), part 1 of Shoah taped off unknown PBS station (probably KCTS) 4/27/1987, another MacNeil/Lehrer clip taped 4/28/1987 with former Chancellor of Austria Franz Vranitsky; Between Wars episode taped off A&E in 1987 minus commercials (sadly, as this is the oldest A&E content I've found). Fuji T-120
Tape 7 - 'Day One' (1989) taped off unknown CBS station 3/5/1989 minus commrcials; How Hitler Lost the War taped off KCTS/PBS 3/13/1989 with a partial pledge break segment at the end with George Ray, ends with a 5 minute clip of A Current Affair on 'Hate TV', taped 4/3/1989 (off presumed KCPQ). Sony T-120
Tape 8 - 'The Final Solution: The Wannsee Conference' (1984) taped off KCTS/PBS in November 1988 with promos; partial broadcast of the Schindler documentary taped off KCTS 4/5/1994. Scotch T-120
Tape 9 - '12 O'Clock High' (1951) taped off Cinemax circa September or October 1988; episode of Seattle Today taped off KING-5 in October 1988 with commercials (on hate groups in the N.W.); episode of Top Secret! taped off Discovery Channel 1/10/1989 minus commercials; and ends with a surprise: 15 minutes of daytime Win, Lose or Draw taped off KING/NBC in October 1988 with commercials! I've never found "W,L,D" in either daytime or nighttime forms on tape, so this was an awesome find. Vicki Lawrence was the NBC host. TDK T-120
Tape 10 - Where Are All the UFOs? taped off A&E 5/12/1996 with commercials; Larry King: The UFO Cover-Up and 'Overlords of the UFO' (1974) taped of TNT 5/23/1996 with commercials. Maxell T-120
Also: Two cassette tapes (one C-60 and one C-90) found! Both contain airchecks of Seattle's 880 KIXI, adult standards station, with the original commercials and announcer segments! One dates to 2/20/1988 based off a Noble House promo on side 1, 'world television premiere on Sunday' and since it was 'the weekend'. The other dates to 11/25 or 11/26/1998 and contains a sprinkling of Christmas songs with the regular format. I got the date because the announcer mentioned A Bug's Life and Babe: Pig in the City coming out in theaters that weekend. (On the latter tape you can hear a weak KWIP Dallas OR underneath as the sun was getting close to going down...Spanish programming)

I also found a 17th tape with May 2007 CBS primetime programming on the label, but it looks like one of the guide cylinders is cracked and broke off as I tried to put it in the VCR. I'll tinker around with it and get it fixed soon. An 8th tape, unlabeled, had family home movies taped in 1997 so it goes in as a dud.

Quite a mixed bag you got this time. I remember that Home Improvement 3D episode. I do have one episode of Win, Lose or Draw from 1989 taped from WKYC.

I haven't found any audiocassettes lately. Last one I did find was from 98.1 WTOF (Christian/gospel music format) in Canton circa 1986. The station is now known as 98.1 WKDD, a top 40/CHR format. I've only found two radio aircheck tapes that have commercials on them--one has KGB-FM in San Diego from 1983, the other has WNCX and WGAR in Cleveland from 1990. I also have a VHS tape that has about 90 minutes of a public access community bulletin board cable channel from Quincy, Massachusetts with audio from 1300 WJDA in Quincy taped in 1999. Radio airchecks have always been harder for me to find compared to TV airchecks.

I almost forgot that Court TV used to show movies on weekends. I can remember my mom watching that network quite a bit when it was more focused on trials.

I rarely buy audio cassettes for the same reason. 98% of the blank C60s and C90s are copied stuff from LPs or songs of a certain artist taped from the radio with IDs, DJ segments and/or commercials pulled out. I also have 30 minutes of beautiful music taped from the old KIT-FM 94.5 Yakima, circa 1977. It was on a C-60 and the other side is sadly, blank. Don't think there were any commercials on that one. KIT-FM would turn into KATS shortly after and to this day, almost 40 years later is still the Rock station in Yakima. My Honestech software has an audio option, I'm not sure if there's a way to plug in the cassette player and post an uncut aircheck of the KIXI tapes, at least as a download. I would get copyright blocks flying at me if I posted it to YouTube!
