Good move to dominate the talk radio market (which is highly sellable if your AEs know what they are doing), but doesn't offer you much variety in product. This must have been a tough decision.

I wouldn't necessarily call Dr. Laura or Dave Ramsey right wing blowhards... I mean they are conservative, but their shows are a far cry from Limbaugh/Hannity. In fact, Ramsey is what Talk Radio should be.snoman said:This sucks. Not only is one of the few radio stations left in NE Texas with all local folks, is going by the wayside (not to mention great music), but it's being replaced by the same right-winged blowhards that I don't want to listen to on AM (with the exception of Smoak).
And this was not a difficult decision, it is money saving position. They won't have to pay any of the folks that were on-air at KDOK anymore and they'll probably be able to get a few more dollars for each of the spots. Not much more, because as it was pointed out, the signal is basically only good in the Tyler metro area.
I expect this kind of crap from Gap, Waller, or Access-1, I did not expect this from Gleiser. I thought he might be deserving of the TX HOF vote this year, based on this decision, not anymore!![]()

It is a giant hole that is missing in the market. I’d do it myself, but being the only standards station for well over a hundred miles has worked out.
