Well, it only took them a year of hockey fans making fun of the name. Coming this fall, VERSUS. http://www.mediaweek.com/mw/news/cabletv/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1002384273
That's just it - They weren't.And to think, they wanted to avoid the sublime and absurd names too. They should've kept looking.Yet another example of the homogonization of the media. At least G4 won't be the only absurdly named network on television now. Umm....Is that supposed to be a blessing?Cheerslugnuts6 said:And I thought "THE CW" was a stupid name...sheeshVS ????what the heck were they thinking ?
They're too dumb to even think of that. Look at their local news and entertainment channels. CET, which is the local Comcast channel here in Denver is a friggin' joke. Altitude is more entertaining to watch than CET is.sfradio2 said:Why don't they just call it comcast sports net?
Yeah they should just sell their networks, another company whould do better of their networks than what comcast is doing with themPodcaster Pat said:Hi everyone:They're too dumb to even think of that. To me, they're just the cable company. Nothing more. Nothing less.Just my opinion...Cheers

OLN Canada has chosen to keep the OLN name, and NOT follow the american lead.sfradio2 said:VERSUS? what kind of name is that? they be better keeping the old oln name.
probly because they still have more outdoor shows than the american network, and not showing hockeyYikr said:OLN Canada has chosen to keep the OLN name, and NOT follow the american lead.sfradio2 said:VERSUS? what kind of name is that? they be better keeping the old oln name.
You make fun of it. But if i had to change to OLN i would change it to WWSN-World Wide Sports Network, WSN World Sports Net and ASN American Sports Network. Thats pretty good names huh?marko83 said:Well, it only took them a year of hockey fans making fun of the name.
