Re: omnia clipping
I exclusively use Omnia 3fmt units at all my plants. For me, they are the best sounding processors I have ever used.
I don't use much comp clipping...+0.5 at the most on all my stations. I use a modified "dense" setting, backing down the final mix levels a couple of clicks, setting my pilot at 9% (using the stations' mod monitor)...and seems to give me the loudness without the grunge. Reason for backing down the final mixer is because I am using an old exciter, and has a problem with overshoot...so by backing things down a bit, prevents those little peaks from happening. I am also a believer that the "loudness war" ended with the introduction of digital tuners, and I'd rather have quality than loud any day.
I have 6 radio stations that I am in charge of...2 am's and 4 fm's, and out of those, I have 4 stations sitting at #1 and #2 positions in their markets and all using Omnia.
