Omnia processor preset swap zone.

Hi, all!

I've been busy with R&D stuff, and family things, but I managed to make changes to the website to allow fdor me to post Omnia User presets up there to share with the broadcast community.

Since posting my Omnia preset versions, I've had a number of you send me your presets to get my comments. A couple of you I have contacted to ask if i can post your preset on the site as well, so I have the first two posted up there now. Wes Keene has come up with a couple of Alternative / Modern Rock presets for the Omnia.one processor. I have a couple of dense preset variations for the Omnia6 to be posted soon for those of you who like to *hear* the processing, or feel the need to add more in front of the Omnia to generate more density.

A couple of folks out there are already using variations of it, and it seems to be working for them.

Feel free to contact me if you have *any* Omnia presets you would wish to share with the community at large!

-Regards, and thanks in advance from me, and from those looking for more presets to choose from!

Cornelius Gould

Thanks, Doc!

New presets posted on my site. There's now a series of "CGDense" presets for the Omnia6EX and 6Exi processors, along with a couple of "CGDenseCHR" presets for the Omnia.One.

The CGDense series is the total opposite of the CGSmooth preset series in that you can HEAR the processing here. These presets feature my under the hood tweaks to get a feel and texture that is quite different from the stock presets.

Now, Separate from my presets, users upgrading their Omnia6EX and 6EXi processors to the latest version software now have access to a new preset designed for Triple-A type formats by Mark Manolio. If you run such a format, and have done the upgrade, be sure to check that out as well!

Thanks!

Is the trigger script option available on the Omnia One FM,yet? Good job on the presets.Dense ,smooth, vanilla, you've got all the flavors.Rocking...

Mr. Gould your presets for the Omnia. One are amazing. Thank you!

We've been using the CGSmoothRock with good results for a variety (Jack, Bob, Mike) type format.

I'm wondering what tweaks could be made to that preset to make it a bit more competitive without losing your "smoothness". Perhaps a special preset aimed at the variety fomat?

Thanks again for all of your contributions to audio processing!

Thanks, tjm_pro!

I'm slowly making subtle updates to most of my Omnia. One presets.

CGSmoothRock V2.0 is in the works at the moment. I made an update to CGSmoothAC that allows you to really pound on the board levels without losing the smoothness....this also means I can "step on the gas" a bit more due to the improved control range.

I will most likely have that RockV2.0 preset up sometime next week!

Thanks again for the kind words, and I'm glad you're enjoying success with the current preset!

Hi there!

I have yet to drill into the Omnia3Turbo...It is on my list to play with at some point, though I do not have a really firm date on that.

One person who *can* help right away is Mark Manolio in our support dept. He has played around with the Omnia 3 Turbo since its launch!
Once I have a moment or two in the R&D schedule to set up the Omnia3Turbo, and play around inside, I'll post what I come up with. It's a bit easier for me to crank out presets for the 6EX/EXi and Omnia. One as most of my hard work is already done with those boxes.

My series of custom presets involves re-tuning the internal algorithms in ways not accessible from the user controls, and as such, it takes some time to develop & test before releasing into the wild.

:)

It's on the list of various things for Omnia.One. As you know, we've been busy releasing different flavors of Omnia. One for various applications. The latest, by the way, is the Omnia. One studio pro. Need 4 band AGC for some pre-processing or production application? -- We've gotcha covered!

So, it'll happen...just hang in there. Lots of things in the pipeline at the moment...

omnia one studio pro? Is this the Omnia challenge to the Ariane? (interesting)

No, not really. You could use it as a pre-processor on air, if you wanted, but Studio.Pro is nothing like the Arianne.

It's more of a general purpose pre-processor that can be used on, say, network feed uplinks (sat uplink or studio to studio), production, etc.

In this age of digital STL's...I see a need for a moderately priced AGC, something that's a step above the Compellor, but not as pricey as the Ariane. Awesome news!

Actually not that big of a price difference.last street price i checked on the o one was right at 2400,$2590.00 on the Ariane.Hard to beat that Ariane for STL pre-processing.IMHO

Sorry to stray off topic but...

You bring up an interesting point. One of the best arguments for using Enhanced APT-X on STL links is that it can give you 24 bit performance on your link. The quality is excellent and you can even fit 2 stations on one T1 while avoiding dynamic range issues from too hot or too low levels (576 kbps per stereo 22 kHz pair).

Thanks for the advice, we're running 2 stations, full linear 44.1 audio over our Moseley Star Link....over our licensed, free microwave link.

Can you please give me Mark Manolio's email address so that I can talk to him and get some help regarding Omnia 3fmt presets.. Can you please guide me that when i get these preset files, how can I copy them into Omnia 3fmt memory card?

Hi there!

Mark's e-mail address is [email protected], and he can be reached by phone too at 1.216.241.3343.
You upload and download presets using the Omnia remote software application and on the Omnia3Turbo, the connections are made via a serial port on the rear panel of the unit.

The software can be downloaded from our website at omniaaudio.com

Hi Mr Gould,

I am wondering if you could give me some advice please,

We have just recently purchased a second hand Omnia FM6 but we think it is one of the very first original models with the first software.

What do we need to do to upgrade this to the latest possible software without having to take it out of service and send it off?

Thanks in advance
