Once the PPMs took over, I was somewhat surprised to see Rock 103's numbers move upward, and I had expected that they would drop. However, looking back, I suspect people started listening because they wanted to hear Bad Dog, not knowing how long they would have that privilege.
Now that Bad Dog has left us, what happens to Rock 103? I have a hard time thinking that their numbers will stay up, as many people will believe that an era has ended and will abandon the station. So, if the numbers drop, what direction do they take?
Does anyone else think that, within the next six months, WEGR returns to its old calls and becomes WREC-FM, simulcasting 600? I know about the HD, but there are, what, 50 people in town who have HD receivers? I think, unless the new morning show does better than expected, this is where they are headed.
OK, veterans, what do you think?
