Does anyone really believe that R&M will be back?
Ever notice how some things just have to die off? Pogs. Hall and Oates. Baby on Board signs. Trapper Keepers and Walking like an Egyptian.
Add Robin and Maynard to that list.

There was more to The Buzz than R&M. I miss Leykis live.
I also miss hearing Leykis in afternoon drive.
I could have sworn I heard R&M on one of my ferry rides to and from “Xmtr land” (Vashon). They really didn’t ID themselves. But the ferry system is playing those newly redesigned announcements they play when the boat leaves the dock. The announcements use various area talent and non-talent to voice the messages. Steve Rable, Cisco, Christine Gregoire, and I’m pretty sure R&M are among the voices you hear when the message is played.
Can any one confirm? If this is true then I would suggest that all R&M fans jump on a boat for the latest from R&M.

Look plain and simple R&M are as much a part of Seattle Radio as anyone. Great talents with innovative styles. If anyone has the balls to hire them, they would be rewarded many times over. Great people make great radio still true.

Between Jack and Star, I've heard "Walk Like an Egyptian" 5 times this month....That song is alive and well my friend! =)

Speaking as one who worked there I can say that it hurt then and to be honest it still hurts now.
I've been through format changes, i've been f ired from stations but for some reason when Entercom & Dave Richards "killed the buzz" it hurt so much more than normal.
I guess it was because there were no idications that things were going badly, heck the book had just come out a couple of weeks before I think or it might have been a trend and we were all invited to go out onto the deck on our building to toast the success of the station.
I had such a sick feeling in my stomach walking to work that day as a co worker of mine had phoned to say that he had seen the Wolf ads on King 5 that were aired earlier than they were supposed to and he heard R&M get pulled off the station and the countdown Entercom had going.
I remember walking into the lobby and seeing friends coming out an elevator with their desk belongings in boxes looking completely stunned.
I remember walking around the office and seeing people smiling and saying how excited they were for the new station - mind you it was all sales & office support folks, little did some of the sales folks know how some were going to take it up the tailpipe in the "reorganization" of the Wolf & KISW sales dept.'s.
I remember being told by Scott Mahalick, well it was told to a group of us that we'd all have an opportunity to be a part of the new station, after my friends who weren't fired that day were used to help with production they were given their opportunity alright -street team!
I was fortunate, I was able to move on to another job in this market others were not and to this day I am still angry about that day and what was done especially when you're lied to.
I'm not asking for anyone to feel sorry for me or my friends & former Co workers, just sharing my experiences of that day as well as how it felt then and now.

Thank you for sharing what REALLY happened! There were many people who posted on this board that blamed Robin Erickson for the entire thing and actually beleived she had that much power to force a station to switch formats. In reality, it was a bunch of money grubbing suits that run that company here in Seattle and don't give a rat's bottom about fans or what they want to listen too. Another country station in Seattle, PLEASE! The Wolf is a joke!

Who would have thunk a year later that Leykis coud not muster the Cajones to get his show on live in a city where he had been rock solid for 10 years. Although I am sure if you were to hear him tell it there is a huge conspiracy to keep him off live in this town.

Just not enough money was being made on the format anymore.
I think the actual radio professionals have moved on and managed to stay on the air.
