Orlando CC stations being sold

Another point, Clear Channel wants this buyout to go through badly. They said they wouldn't contest any of the FCC's demands to divest stations, and have even started overcompensating by selling off stations they don't need to. They're actually fetching more dollars for many of the stations than they expected.

Is it possible that putting the entire group into the trust means they don't know which ones are going to go just yet? My guess is the Melbourne group is absolutely gone and at least 1 or 2 Orlando FMs are as well. Another thought is it may be easier to sell off the entire group than 1 or 2. Unless CBS steps up, what broadcaster besides a Salem (which has AMs but no FM) is gonna want just 1 FM in a market like Orlando when they'll have to compete against 3 established ownership groups?

Understand the bigger picture--Lowry Mays is in failing health and wants to make sure that he doesn't saddle the kids with a tax bill so big on his empire that they can't afford to pay it when he's gone (remember what Joe Robbie did with the Dolphins and why the kids had to sell?). They want to make what's left manageable regardless of what markets they have to pull out of.

The worth of the stations are in continual flux as is the true amount of money that is available to the private equity company so things are on the table and then off and then gone. It all changes depending on what is worth the most literally at that moment.

Wouldn't be at all surprised if CC were out of Florida entirely, wouldn't be surprised if the only place they stay is Miami and wouldn't be surprised if its somewhere in the middle.

Out of Florida entirely? I definitely don't see Miami-Ft. Lauderdale or Tampa Bay being sold as they're both top 20 markets with high billing stations and personalities.
