Overheard Plan for the weekend on 100.5

What kind of stunting? Are we going to hear the same song replayed for 3½ days straight? That would be a brutal stunt to pull. I believe that's what 95.5 did before they flipped to The Beat years ago.

Remember when 105.3 became all Beatles for the weekend before it became Cool 105.3. I remember JJ Jackson being the image voice for those stunting days.

That would be fantastic, especially if we had some DJ's mixing it up all weekend. Something "else" before the flip. I'd listen!

Stunting begins at 10am this Friday with an announcement to listen in this Monday to 100.5.

I think this makes sense... gives them the entire Bert Show simulcast to get their 100.5 ducks in a row.

I think they should just play TV theme songs. Everyone watches TV so there must be something to appeal to everyone. Spare me the I don't have a TV comments.

I don't recall what the Beat did when they kicked off but Q100 played Pop Musik for days I believe before their kick-off.

Primarily former since most show lack real theme songs. If it was current it would be three who songs every hour.

Which station was it that stunted by rotating an hour of programming from some of its other stations around the country for a couple of days?

back in 1996 in louisville ky when clear channel bought wqmf one of the classic rock stations we have they stunted with a different format a hour for a day till they decided well it was a joke they kept it classic rock but pretty creative stunt.Country one hour dance another

But do we really need anything other than the Law & Order theme (and remixes)? ;)

I don't get all these secret games and plans that are played out in radio programming.

Networks promote their TV shows three months ahead of time. Why is radio different ?

Wouldn't you want to get the word out early enough what's coming to your station , so a buzz can be built by the average radio listening audience ??

No, because it gives your competition a chance to adjust their programming before your station signs on with a new format.

Radio-X

But doesn't TV do the same thing ??
Or is harder for TV to do so but local radio can change programming at the drop of the dime ??

Forget the whole theme! Just the "clunk clunk" scene change sound effect! Or, play that between songs ;D
