Pat Sajak will stop turning the wheel after 41 years.

More on the Vanna White temporary replacement:

Pat Sajak to act on stage in Hawaii.

Pat Sajak is just coming off a long-running tenure as host of Wheel of Fortune, and the 77-year-old TV veteran already has his next big project lined up.

Next summer, Sajak will star in a play at The Hawaii Theatre, titled Prescription: Murder, alongside longtime friend, KHON-TV Hawai’i newscaster Joe Moore. The production, directed by Rob Duval, is based on the 1962 play Prescription: Murder, written by William Link and Richard Levinson, who later turned it into the popular 1960s drama series Columbo.

Gregory D. Dunn, President and CEO of Hawaii Theatre Center, tells PEOPLE exclusively that they're "very fortunate" to have both Sajak and Moore volunteering their time to the program.

So, how long does Vanna White last?

I'm thinking the producers have to keep Vanna for at least 3 years. If Vanna leaves/retires at the end of 2024/25, works one season with Ryan Seacrest, it will seem that she was pushed out. Two years gives them a buffer.

If Vanna announces her retirement at the beginning of the 2026/2027 season, it would seem natural. Plus Vanna turns 70 in February 2027 so it can be sold as a milestone.

i give it 1 season before she retires (either by her own choice or be forced by WOF producers who say it's time for her to retire).

I believe she has been quoted that she would stay one year for R.S. to get started then she was going to retire.
Thanks. The key is to make the general viewing audience truly believe it is Vanna's choice. There will be pockets of loyal viewers will think Vanna was forced out to bring in a younger turner/presser.

Pat is not un-retiring. He's only doing this one more season of Celebrity WOF. It would be cool if Ryan played as a contestant, or maybe, on the finale, Pat could officially turn the hosting duties over to Ryan and Pat would play as a contestant!
