I enjoyed a lot of the comedy, mostly the political comedy. Not all of it, though. There was some weird stuff I just didn't get. I was nice to see Seth back.
I like Paul's hit music, but what in the world was that? I just couldn't enjoy it. Even the new version of "Bridge". I don't think you can improve on the original.
This aired live everywhere. When do people in the West see what aired during prime time on NBC, including a classic episode? I wish if the objective was to air a classic episode with Paul they could have found another one. The episode with George Harrison already aired during prime time. How many others were there? What about the one where the senator and Paul argued over who was hosting?[/QUOY
Yes, and I really like the primetime airing of the show in the west.
Paul Simon is an icon. His music, going way back, is beyond reproach. I do not like it when they feel they can get so "weird" based on their past success. The first song on SNL this past Saturday was hopelessly alternative to the point that few understood it. OK, it was about Chernobyl. Why anyone really cares about that 30+ years later is beyond me. As I posted earlier, I liked his new rendition of "Bridge Over Troubled Water". Perhaps that was what he needed last night, as I guess he is retiring from music. Which also seems a little unbelievable.
