Don't believe all the rumors you hear. Libby is a great PD!

yep, the US 93.3 website lists "John Hancock" as the PD (Roddy was "Sam Adams") I haven't listened, but I assume the new guy's on afternoons.

The word (there's that ever-present "word" again) says Roddy starts very soon in Indy and those of us who know him KNOW he'll be on the air. (so there ought to be a little bit of an airshift shakeup coming), If Libby is still the PD... Does that make Roddy the OM?

Don't you mean John Records Landecker? The old WLS jock? What a great addition he would be to this market.

The company that owns 107.9 needs to seriously clean up the station's muddy signal. After they've done that, aim high and put together a staff of Larry Lujack, Tommy Edwards, John Records Landecker and the former afternoon drive WLS jock who went to WLS-TV - I can't remember his name now. Then WKLU would really be that Brownsburg radio station and 107.9 would be an incredibly classic oldies station with personality and music, the way we remember it.

Was it Bob Sirott you are referring to? Not sure on the spelling, but I think he wound up doing segments for a dateline or 48 hours type TV show.

Wasn't Fred Winston filling in during afternoon drive on WIBC not long ago? He's one of the old WLS gang, and still sounding good last I heard....

That's it! Bob Sirott. Fred Winston was another great WLS jock, too. And in my original post I meant that 107.9 could be an incredible radio station like WLS used to be, the one we remember with great music AND great personalities.

107.9 should try rap and hip hop.

Since you talk a lot about Rap and Hip Hop on the Cincy board, maybe you should buy the station and go with that!

AllAccess is reporting today that Scott Roddy takes over afternoons on WKLU on Monday...no mention of the PD gig, but I have to believe that title will go with his new gig.

The WKLU website also proclaims his return. I'm familiar with him in FW, and I knew he had come from Indy, but I didn't realize he was such a big deal down there. What's his story?

I suppose he's best known from his time with the former Gold 104.5 and the Bear (Susquehanna, pre-Cumulus days) and I think he was with Hank FM for a while...he's been with Oasis for a few years now. He's a talented guy.

Yeah, Roddy was PM driver on Hank for a little while.
