Petition to get Dick Biondi back on at 7PM

+1.

Rule of thumb is the less said about business decisions with potential backlash, the better. Better than handing out bogus "information".

They can't say nothing.  They have to feed you garbage; it lets you know what trash they are when they do that.  They know you aren't stupid, and that is why they feed you the garbage.  You aren't dealing with intelligent people, just slick people who are showing you what little they are made of.  This is obviously something that is new to some.  Wait until the 20 somethings who are cheating with someone in the front office decide to make the married guy appear to be DB.  That will be a real treat.

With apologies for the veer off topic.... Can't help but be reminded of an evening in Ottawa about ten years back. Local CHUM group cluster located about a block from my hotel. I was in a nearby bistro/wine bar having dinner within perfect view and earshot of fat, rumpled 50-something honcho trying to make it with a 20-something voluptuous staffer. Problem was, the hotshot was more inebriated than his "quarry". By far...although she seemed to be feeling no pain herself. The whole thing was more hilarious than anything that could have been made up for a movie script. Fortunately a "white knight" eventually showed up, rescued the young lady, and called a cab for the over-served suit.

Has anyone noticed that Landecker sounds a lot older & not nearly as good as Biondi? Isn't it ironic that it's Biondi who sounds younger and more in tune
with the audience than the stiff and out of place Landecker?
Landecker is the one who should be on overnights and Biondi should be back on in his 7PM time.

You bet I noticed! The last hour of JRL show is awful. He sounds wiped. Biondi was fresh from 7-11 PM every night. What they have done to Biondi is terrible. Ok if Jan wanted his buddy on WLS, let him on from 6-9 PM and let Biondi broadcast 9-Midnight. I really enjoyed listening to JRL mid-days replacing Scott. Again my opinion is that this is a move to force Biondi to retire or leave WLS. Mark my words in a short time Biondi will no longer be on WLS; He will be retired or on another station.

The funny part is that traditionally, a station puts its youngest people on the air at night. The thinking is that the older folks are either watching TV or are in bed. So the kids are looking for something to do. When I was a teenager, I got a job as a 7 to midnight DJ at an oldies station. The songs I played were older than me. If you listen to radio in other formats, that's what they're doing.

This is an obvious move by Jan Jeffries to get Biondi out by using his buddy Landecker.
The irony is Biondi sounds younger and ten times more vibrant than Landecker.

I'll admit I like John Landecker. But not at the expense of Dick Biondi. I would like to see both of them share the time period between 6 PM and Midnight.

As I've mentioned before I have no problem with Landecker coming to the station, but moving Biondi to the graveyard shift is an insult not only to him, but his fans.

Ya know all those phone calls you made, either as a fan or a detractor who caught on, and the letters you sent?

There are studio tapes of fans, and there is the outrage that follows his leaving, with one bad apple who seems to be running the show now.

Someone cares enough to state a very well thought out case, and speak for many listeners.
Nothing can negate the honest opinion expressed.

Tell us the story about the short skirts again, Dick.

You must mean the "wonderful" Jan Jeffries--and I use the word very loosely.

Precisely. Again, I can only go by what I am reading, but I never put it past anyone such as that to go back through whatever might make her look like a professional while making herself look cheaper and cheaper.

Well, I do, and I repeat, since I only said it twice until now, that I am not in that market, but I have experienced what Radioman and other fans of Dick Biondi are experiencing, and I know how they who follow previous owners corrupt and wreak stench on a station and its sister stations. It occurred to me to double check, and I did not.

So, now that that technicality is out of the way, any other little jabs?
