Re: PHIL HENDRIE (BARELY) RETURNS TO VALLEY AIRWAVES
It got so close that one wondered if Snooze 92/3 KT'R-FM
No Static At All would have to render a "we now join the
Phoenix premiere of the new Phil Hendrie Show already in
progress."
Monday evening's storm/dust/rain that blew through the metro
must have knocked the power out at 5300 North as the Bonneville
trifecta--oops, quadfecta--were all down for the count
around 9:25. Carriers on, but no programming (or loops
).
Timeline and side comments for their return-to-air (as I fall back
into my "Lumberyard 1440 thread" mode)--
9:50
The loop restarts on 860 The Loop.
9:51
Sports Parking Lot 620 KT'R rejoins with jock talk in progress.
9:56
860 The Loop loses the loop--back to carrier only.
9:57
Snooze 92/3 KT'R-FM No Static At All airs rock music for
about :30, then carrier only returns.
10:00
KT'R-FM program material finally came back--legal ID then
ABC News (in :07 language delay). The entire ABC 'cast
aired, as in no local news at 10:03. No local voice anywhere
during this period to tell us what happened. (Geez, I thought
I was in Minot.;D) What appeared to be a local spot ran
at 10:05, then Hendrie from the top at 10:06. Whew!
BTW, not sure when K-Lite got programming back on but I did
hear music at about 10:08.
OK, so...assuming all four XMTRs were on (they were) and they
control all four stations from 5300 North, what was with the
pecking order for getting back on? 860 first(!), then 620, 92.3,
and (apparently) 98.7.
Without any sacred cow (D-backs) PBP, that should have made
KT'R-FM their number one priority to get back up--especially with
the marginal WX rumbling through the Valley, yet the first signal
to return with "programming" was 860 The Loop.
Russ, care to enlighten us--here or on your blog?
