glad to hear that WSOX has picked up the Eagles. sounds great on WSOX's clear signal. GO EAGLES!!!

Enjoy yourself, Caj012885.

As for me, ALL of my football needs are on 93.5 WTPA. Penn State and the Steelers on one station. The BEST of both worlds!!!

;)

Yep, it was great to hear that last night - I'm not even an Eagles fan. It was also cool that they played the entire post-game show

Coming from Pittsburgh it would have been nicer to have Steelers and PITT football :)

Sorry Steel......this is Penn State territory, Notre Dame probably #2. There is some Pitt interest but certainly not as much as the Nits or Irish.

Gee...the Eagles & Steelers are on 50, 000 blowtorches. But the Ravens have to settle for a York AM station. Suppose they'll look to upgrade soon?

Steel,
I'm originally from Huntingdon, very very pro Steeler country and just 30 miles south of State College.

Plus the Steeler-PSU connection is strong. The analyst on Penn State radio? None other than Steeler hall of famer Jack Ham.

BUT as some consolation to you, I'm pretty certain that 1460 The Ticket WTKT is picking up a full slate of Pitt football. I think you should be able to pull that in in Lancaster, though maybe not the best. Give it a try.

Seltzer and Timmyb - I grew up in this area and I'm well aware this is JoePA country. I guess I was trying to throw some humor into it. There's a reason Dave Wanstadt isn't still coaching in the pros...he's just no good and he is an average college coach. Now, Pitt basketball is something I enjoy watching but I think some of those games will be on FSN Pittsburgh this year. I really have no allegence to Pitt Panther football.

I also find it humorous that the Ravens are only found on the A.M. dial around here too.....GOOD! I'm not familiar with 1460. When I left the only am stations I recall were 1390, 1490, 910 and 610 and 1060.

Football on Sox. Great for the Eagles fans. For everybody else who wants music on a Sunday afternoon or Monday night, there's Mix 106.7.

Whew!...Thanks for letting me know the "MUSIC OPTIONS" when the Eagles are on...

I will be glued to the 30+ year old songs THEY play.

Well, duh. Sox plays songs that are 30 plus years old as well. If that's what you normally listen to, then..yes...Mix would be the closest match. Duh.

Well, I'll never joke about PSU football again. I took my 15 yr. old to see the game last Saturday and 2 miles from the stadium I was involved in a serious accident. Everyone should be ok, so keep everyone involved in your thoughts.

Now, even though this isn't directly related to radio, I have a question about my beloved Steelers. They played @ 4:15 but since I'm in Lancaster with DirecTV, the FOX channel had to carry the Ravens. Ok, I get that, and suffered through the game. I later found out that Channel 15 carried the Steelers!?!? Back in Pittsburgh, the CBS station is KDKA and their sister tv station is CW 19. Occasionally they would swap Steeler games back and forth on the sister station, however since FOX was covering the Steelers game it never occurred to me that Channel 15 would carry a game, because they carry the Channel 21 CBS news. Is this something I should be on the lookout in the future if other Steelers games are blacked out, and does Channel 15 carry the out of market game in competition to the Ravens game?

You can reply privately too if you'd like.

You should know better than to go to Penn State, but that's another story.....

If WHP21, a CBS affiliate, showed the Steelers on CW15, an CW affiliate, then they would be in some serious sh_t with the NFL.

Yes. Unfortunately the former Cleveland Browns claimed Central PA as a secondary market when they arrived in Baltimore. That's why they're given status over the Steelers on CBS. Shame KYW out of Philly isn't on Central PA cable systems because the Steelers land there often.

Well the game against the Bears was a FOX broadcast and was interconference. I am just not sure how CW Channel 15 could have been given the green light to carry the game though? From just moving here from Pittsburgh it appears that the local CBS station also owns the local CW station, which is what happens in Pittsburgh. I also know from living here before that Channel 15 used to be a CBS affiliate. When I moved away Channel 8 was the Steelers station because NBC had the AFC. After the Ravens moved in it apparently caused quite a stir, and from what I hear Channel 8 refused to carry the Ravens when they were on the same time as the Steelers because of all the angry callers. Whether this is true or not I don't know though.

If that's true, good for Channel 8. This is a question I'd like an answer to......

When the Colts were in Baltimore, what was the pecking order then? Did the Steelers get the nod over the Colts by Channel 8?

I seem to recall from when I started watching football in 1973 to when I left in 1986 that Channel 8 carried all the Steelers games and the Colts didn't get preference. It seems like that all started when the Ravens arrived in Baltimore. I think thats why all the fury even today.

Well the NFL got it right back then. A couple of generations have grown up as Steelers fans. I'd be upset too if the team I've followed for years all of a sudden wasn't available to me. The NFL should have followed market history.

I am a long time Eagles fan but have loads of respect for what the Steelers have accomplished over the years. All those Super Bowls, and some at the expense of the Cowboys :). What Philly fan can't love that?

Kudos to Channel 8 for standing their ground. 21 should do the same.
