Phoenix Radio Ratings: June 2013

How long can KDUS and KGME expect to last as sports stations? Both stations are at the bottom of the ratings list with a 1.0 between both stations. Neither one is making a dent against KTAR-AM, albeit 6+. Hopefully, KDUS and KGME are selling enough advertising and attracting enough men 25-54 to stay in the format. :)

(psst - don't share this with the Lamptimer crowd) Is there anything stopping Gumpdusky from having NBCSports on both 10~Sixty and 14~Forty? It would be a 10kw sports parkinglot by day, and .552kw at night ;) Makes more sense than wornout oldies and they could continue to broker time on 14~Forty.

KDUS makes most of their money through brokering afternoon drive. It wouldn't make sense to have NBC Sports Radio on both 1060 and 1440, given there are better national sports radio networks.

The better question would be, after 620's recent schedule shuffle, why hasn't the station dropped Colin Cowherd for Jim Rome (unless "Van Smack" doesn't fit into Bonneville's "Core Values") and move the ESPN Radio network back to 860 full-time? Even ESPN doesn't treat Colin Cowherd with much respect since they have his TV simulcast on ESPNU. The CBS Sports Radio programming would make better overnight filler for 620 than ESPN Radio.
